Could Hakunin's "Powers" come from a pipboy

So obviously there's a lot of controversy over Psykers in the Fallout Universe, Chris Avellone himself said they should never play a prominent role.

Hakunin is widely regarded as a Psyker, but is it possible that his "Powers" to speak to you in dreams aren't actually talking to you through the spirit world at all, but are in fact just pip-boy messages.

Like, in Fallout 1 you get constant reminders from Vault 13 saying stuff like "Hury the fuck up, we're running out of water", and you can play them back in the cutscene section of the Pipboy, so my assumption was always that Vault 13 was contacting you directly through the Pipboy.

Since the Chosen One is a superstitious tribal, if there pip-boy started glowing in the middle of the night, and Hakunin told them he was contacting them through the world of dreams, the Chosen One would probably believe it. Similarly since Hakunin probably doesn't have the foggiest how Pipboys work, he could believe it just as much.

TL;DR: Could Hakunin contacting the Chosen One in dreams just be a very misinterpreted Pip-Boy message.

It could be, but what could Hakunin use to contact the Chosen One through Pip-Boy? i don't remember there is any radio in Arroyo.

Well given that we don't know quite how Pip-Boys work in 1 and 2, and it's only 3 and New Vegas which introduce contacting Pip Boys through radios, I don't see any reason not to believe that classical Pipboys can send video messages to one another.

Could be the chosen one dreaming of hakunin instead of the later rreachinghim. Or hakunin using hypnosis on the chosen one before he left to make him have several dreams after specific amounts of moon cycles so he remembers to hurry on.

I doubt that Hakunin has a way of actually contacting the Chosen One at will. Otherwise he would have called the Chosen One about the Enclave attacking and kidnapping Arroyo villagers as soon as it was happening, instead of suffering by keeping himself alive with just his own force of will to inform the Chosen One of the tribe's fate when he returns to the village with the GECK.

I always thought it was some Tribal thing. Like they he used spirituality to contact the Chosen One.

Well, he says something like that: "Chosen, the spirits of our ancestors guide me to world of dreams that I may touch thoughts."
I think he can only reach the Chosen One when one of them or both are asleep. That's what I meant in my previous post when I said that I doubt he can contact the Chosen one at will (like as if he had a pipboy or radio).
Also I think that both the Pipboy and the vault suit are sacred relics from the Vault Dweller, so it doesn't make much sense that Hakunin also has a Pipboy.

Also remember that this is in a game where there are real ghosts, so the spirits guiding the tribe's shaman is very plausible.

I have to agree with Risewild with this, The original Fallout games were heavy with belief suspension moments. While typically now mechanics like this are frowned upon, they were essential story telling tools for earlier games.
For the Fallout games it merely added to the mystique to the already unknown world the player was adventuring through.

Hakunin could connect with Chosen via a dream, and there is nothing wrong with that - he is a shaman, after all. Besides, anyone can see certain person in a dream, when that person thinks about the dreamer very much, or misses him/her much. It's common, so it may as well be the case.
But definitely not via Pip boy.

I guess a lot about dreams, controlled dream techniques, and such, was written in Kastaneda's books, so this might also be some reference to good ol' Carlos)
