Anyone else interested in Demon's Souls? It's a PS3 exclusive, so that might be a turnoff for some people.

It's a Japanese RPG, only made like a Western RPG. Open-ended fantasy action RPG and all that jazz. The more interesting aspects are the online capabilities. Co-Op up to three players, players can leave hints to other players. But what I find the most interesting is that a player can force into another gamer's adventure and play as an opponent.

It's gotten great reviews in Japan and is coming in October to NA; just says 2009 for EU. Here's hoping its going to be good.

What the hell?? Is my post showing up? Because I certainly can't see text...

EDIT: There it is. Sorry for the double post.

An open-ended RPG with character creation options? It's a JRPG? I'm surprised...and interested. I'll ask the fans I know of the stuff if it's good.

Wow, that game looks like a modern action rpg version of an old school unforgivingly brutal MUD. It hasn't sold much, apparently most are complaining of the insane difficulty. I bet this could find a wider audience on PC than PS3, especially if they expanded on their semi - passive multiplayer concept.

Yeah, I found it odd to be a PS3 exclusive. Should be PS3 and PC, or just all PS3, PC, Xbox360, although some might say it wouldn't run on Xbox360. Oh well, that's them console wars.

I've got a pre-order on the Deluxe edition.

I'm a sucker for pre-order swag and the idea of having a 150+ page strategy guide for a game fills me with a sense of nostalgia I have not had for a long time.

This game has done very well among critics for something apparently so hardcore. That's two "Game of the Year" awards from mainstream websites.

Looks like an upgraded version of Diablo mixed with some action game? Can't say the endless dungeon crawls sound more appealing to me today than they did 10 years ago.

I have been playing it for a few weeks now and it's really worth buying.

Really, srysly. It's the game to get if you have a PS3.

Well, i am totaly in LOVE with this game. Haven't played a game like it in years!
Demon's Souls gets my vote for the GOTY 2009.

So you have the Deluxe edition eh?

...

I hate you!

it really does sound awesome and I'm still considering getting a PS3 to be able to play it.

I wouldn't consider getting a console for one it, but the PS3 catalouge is worth it IMHO

Just like Dopemine said, that's not the only good game on the ps3. Call me an idiot/moron/blind fanboy but the game really is worth buying a ps3 for. Of course...that depends on what kind of a gamer you are. It's not a game for everyone.

I bought a PS3 only for Metal Gear Solid 4 so I can see where you are coming from. At this point however with the price drop and the current library I would say there is enough of a reason to purchase a PS3.

Meh, I saw the review a long time ago, and it didn't look that much different from any other smash and grab games, which I already have plenty around.

Is there a character selection at all?

Btw, I am actually really disappointed with my PS3, since I've only got 6-7 games for it so far after a year of purchase.

Well, at the start you customize your character and choose a beginning class.

The class determines your starting stats and equipment, but after the first area you can start leveling up whatever stats you want to build the character you want.
