This is a great day indeed I never thought this would happen but Duke nukem seems to be alive and looking god damm good.

It's been, what, 10 years since the first announcement? Wow, they're fast. I would actually be interested some 6 or 7 years ago, but now I couldn't care less. It'll probably turn out to be another generic FPS with a bit more tits and coarse language than the gaming community is used to so everyone can call it "provocative" and allow ESRB to rate it AO.

Return of the vapourware!
All that link says is that they're looking employees for pretty much all positions for game development. In other words, they haven't actually developed much. Which is, you know, exactly what the situation has been like for years upon years.

And before anyone asks, it's legit.

I was about to post the theory that the image actually shows a Duke Nukem action figure, but you got me :P

Apart from that, to me it looks more like a screenshot taken from a cutscene, rather than actual in-game footage.

Shyeah, as much as I want to play this game, I really think it will never happen.

If that really is legit they've taken the term plastic characters to a whole new level. It looks like a frickin Action figure.

EDIT: Upon further investigation I've come to the conclusion that this is indeed an Duke Nukem action figure.

I doubt an action-figure could be that detailed. Though I have seen some amazingly tiny yet realistic ones.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Then I don't like the look, at all.

I'm going to have to see another "screenshot" that isn't thumbnail size to be totally convinced though.

Taken from another forum that supports the "action figure" theory.

And that thing on the lower left does look like a finger or something.

Action figure that's been Sin City'd to look CGId.

Drop it already. Game's vapourware. Has been for years.

Realms president said,"... that's an in-game, real-time shot of Duke standing in a random hallway,"

That's an odd camera angle for an in-game shot, unless they meant "an in-game cut scene." Besides, I thought DNF was supposed to be first person (which I hope it is because all the 3rd person DN games that I've played sucked). An awefully small pic as well, and that does not look like a random hallway to me. Could defiitely be an action figure.

Probably, just an early PR stunt for a game they are about to restart. It worked too, DNF is the "#1 Game Of The Day" on gamespot. :?

No, you cannot pre-order the game. If you see some online store saying "We are taking pre-orders", they're just trying to get your money (they usually also make up their own supposed "insider release date info", too). There is no release date set, we are not taking pre-orders for the game. End of story.

Once we begin taking pre-orders, believe us, you'll know about it. :)

The release date of this game is "When it's done". Anything else, and we mean anything else is someone's speculation. There is no date. We don't know any date. If you have a friend who claims they have "inside info", or there's some game news site, or some computer store at the mall who claims they know - they do not. They are making it up. There is no date. Period.

And yes, we know the game has taken a long time. There's no possible joke you could make about the game's development time that we haven't already heard. :)

So can anyone think of a joke that they might not have heard?

What saddens me is that they have played the vaporware game for so long that virtually NOTHING that they do with the game is going to raise any eyebrows. The FPS genre has already seen too many milestones from Doom to Half Life 2 to Unreal Tournament 2007. If they intend to release a rehash of Duke 3D in today's graphics, they are in for a big SLAM DUNK (in the toilet). Duke 3D was a good game for it's time but quirkyness and penile humor won't take you that far. I really have no idea HTF are they going to create a hit title. It better put Unreal 2007 to shame, the only FPS that I'm looking forward to play.
