you know, that old game, sort of "father" (or should I say "grandfather"?) of Fallout.

I know this isn't a Q&A board,
but I didn't see a non-Fallout 1/2 board.
So.....

How do I fix broken Toasters?

I have the "repair toaster" skill, but I can't seem to use it.

I tried using the skill, and the item itself,
but it keeps saying "that does nothing".

any ideas on getting it to work?

I can't help you with your question, but I have to inform you that technically you're breaking the rules of conduct. Game questions on games other then fallout aren't allowed on this board, but I'll leave it up this time because I don't think there are any wasteland forums available. But everyone else don't get any ideas. Indepth gamequestions is not what this board is for.
 
You'll find a workbench on the second floor of the Guardian Citadel (much later on, if you're still in Quartz). You use the toaster on the bench and then IQ or some skill I can't remember right now.
