Fallout 1 Fixt mod

Sduibek has been working on this mod for quite some time. It has now reached alpha 5.2 which may be the final release. The mod amalgamates most available FO1 mods into one installation and adds more. This is considered to be the FO1 "Megamod". It contains:
<blockquote>
FULLY INTEGRATED PATCHES:
- Official Interplay patches (1.1, 1.2)
- TeamX patches (1.2, 1.21, 1.3.5)
- No Children Fix
- Cathedral Crash Fix (and other fixes by Sduibek for the Cathedral, Military Base and The Glow crashes)
- Nimrod's Dialog Fixes
- FreeSpace variable is set to 0 by default, so you won't have to worry about that crash either.

FULLY INTEGRATED MODS:
- Fallout 1 Restoration Mod, version 1.0b1 [Created by Wasteland Ghost. Portions by Mynah, hamster, Wasteland Hellbringer.]
--- Invasions are now entirely optional (including Necropolis), and invasion dates can be customized, anywhere from instant to 4x their default values.
--- Deathclaw status is no longer linked, i.e. killing it on the world map or in the cave does not prevent it from appearing at the other.
- Extended Flamer Attack Mod [Created by .Pixote.]
- Endgame Mod [Created by Corpse]
- TeamX NPCs 3.5
- Sfall ddraw 1.18e (including shaders.fx for D3D modes) [Created by Timeslip]
- hires patch 3.0.6 [Created by Mash]

OPTIONAL MODS:

- Weapon Drop Mod [Created by Josan12 and MIB88]
--- Customizable distance values.
- "Nixie Numbers" for GUI

See this link for a complete change list.

I highly recommend you give this mod a go. It is only missing some content from Pal's highly buggy work. This is the best FO1 mod experience you can have.

Sduibek is now working on porting FO1 into the FO2 engine (this requires you to own both games), so this may well be the final version of his FO1 mod.

I really appreciate it that classic Fallout modding gets some coverage. Good work on the FIXT mod, BTW. Gotta try it out one of these days :P

Probably means don't install their stand alone incarnations as it may mess up their install with this mod.

Why "don't install these"?

They're all included in the FIXT mod, so installing them separately is pointless.
Correct! 8-)

Thanks! Actually part of why I got started on this was because no one had done it yet, and I was like "Well that's lame, I guess it's up to me!" I mean nobody likes installing a dozen mods that all conflict with each other.

Looking good Sduibek, :salute:
:ok:

Is it bad that I'm commenting on my own mod's News post? Oh well.

I haven't played through Fallout in probably 2 years. The next time I do I'll use this. I might be getting back to Fallout sooner than I thought. :)

Thanks for all the work put in to this, from everyone involved.

Sduibek, you are the Bear Dude of Fallout 1. I really enjoyed Playing F1 with the previous iterations.

I'll give the new release a spin soon.

WorstUsernameEver, your username is the worst username ever. LOLOLOL :postviper:

What kind of stuff scares you specifically?

I recently added to the OP of the discussion thread that things like this if they aren't currently optional will be made optional. Personally I don't care about non-canon, but I also want the fans to be happy, and making things optional is actually pretty easy to do. (most of the time anyway)

EDIT: If you have a list of examples feel free to email or PM them to me. I'll add them to the Bugs/Suggestions wiki page.

Well, consider that I'm just basing myself on the changelog and the descriptions and I haven't tried the mod yet (I had similar suspicions about Wesp's Bloodlines mod, but ultimately it was too good to pass up) but I'm talking about stuff like the text changes (in particular the additional dialogue options), some slight balance changes (like raising the points of Outdoorsman Tycho gives from 5 to 10), the force field changes, and stuff along those lines.

I'm guessing part of that it's because I'm not clear what the mandatory changes are and what's optional? Sorry if I'm sounding like a worrywart, by the way, but I tend to be a little prickly about unneeded changes (then again, it's been a while since I played FO1 so it might be all of that stuff is actually good)

Really happy Sduibek did this. Fallout 1 was sorely missing some all in one compilation. Makes replaying it much easier.

Great job Sduibek, i already used your mod long time ago when it was W.I.P but i did not complete my playthrough.
I'm going to use it again for my next playthrough.

Downloaded, installed, and playing with glee :) I haven't been this excited to play Fallout since my first time a decade ago

One thing though. This happened
Kbd8K.png

I'd hit OK and it'd pop right back up, this happened six to ten times then stopped and finished the installation. It still apparently worked, been playing it without a single problem.

Worst Username: Thank you, let me know of you think of any others.

Formerk: Shit, forgot about that. Thanks, I'll add a check in the installer for 64-bit OS.

Compared to vanilla, it's like being Icarus and never flying too high.
