Fallout 2 Need modding help please!!!

Kiryans5

First time out of the vault
Hi there!
Today I have only 2 questions (For now:wiggle:)

1) I have converted WAV file to ACM through wav2acm,but in the game I have a strange problem...
You see...My music is kinda faster than normal,so it's sounds differently than I need:puppy-dog:.
Any idea why is that happening and how to fix it?

2)Is there any way to edit Highwayman properties?(e.g. Speed, type of fuel, number of fuel, fuel consumption, and other things).
I know that I can edit highwayman trunk propserties's through any .PRO Editor, but I need a Highwyaman
properties itself.

Help please...

(Already sorry if I NOOB'ed somewhere...)

I had some of the same issues earlier this year. You can find my thread here:

The file you create has 4 identifiers in the sound directory SNDLIST.LST. You have file name, file audio length (as best I can tell), actual file size and the file order in the list (which is sequential and must coincide with the main game files). So something like this:

WA$2XXX1.ACM
69220
16661
1912

I would be willing to bet your file length is too long and it's trying to stretch your sound across, say, 5 seconds when it's only 2 or 3. You can adjust this by scaling down your sound length. So if the above were your file, just change 69220 to 40000 or something. That's how I was able to get the sounds to work correctly. Even doing this you may have some wavs that don't translate well to acm, no matter what you do. For me, it was mostly guesswork as there doesn't seem to be a direct how to on implementing new sounds. The wiki file is helpful, but adding sounds isn't as simple as adding new weapons in my experience. I made a few sounds (auto energy weapons, explosions, etc...) and just re used them as needed.

For the Highwayman, I'm lost. I never altered it myself.

Thanks for sound help !
Now i will need some time to understand about all of this ...

Actually...SNDLIST.LST Isn't for music...So problem still stands :(
