Pete Hines of Bethesda Softwork had the following comment at the end of an interview, pertaining Fallout 3:
And finally - how's Fallout 3 coming along?

We've got a lot of folks working on that game now, and what I've seen of it so far is looking really good and has me very excited - I'm a big fan. We're approaching Fallout 3 as if we developed the first and second games - we're developing it just like we developed Oblivion. Fallout 3 is our baby, we want to stay true to what it is and we want to deliver something that all the fans think is worthwhile. We're trying to move the series forward, keeping it fresh and cool while staying true to its roots. When we're ready we'll let people know, and hopefully people will be excited about some of the ideas we have and some of the stuff we're up to.
You're developing it just like Oblivion, huh? Great...just...great.

Thanks to an anonymous source and the half a dozen people that reported it after him!

So basicaly he said NOTHING. Seriously, all these folks say is "we are fans we are fans we are fans ... did I mention that we are fans ?".

Somehow I find it not convincing enough. I guess we should start saying "we want profs we want profs ..."

Well atleast there working on it, That is good news I guess. This has me slightly confised though...

Does he mean it will be "similar to Oblivion" or they are using the same tactics and styles used in figuring out missions, mapping area's, etc in Oblivian for Fallout.

On a side note I think I'll go get their latest version of that game to see where there coming from here, and what kind of quality to expect from this... being a good way to suport the development of Fallout3 also, buying their pgames to pay their way (a little anyways :P )

Those two put together are eerie.

1. They're pretending they developed the first two games.
2. They're developing it just like Oblivion.

TES with guns, anyone?

When he says "Fans" he obviously doesn't mean us, since we've made it quite clear that we don't want Fallout to be anything like the ES games.

Reading the sub-text he's probably talking about ES fans.

The only thing I think it will be nice is if they put Oblivion's AI into FO3 Althought some NPC in Fallout and FO2 has scripted AI like Eldridge from New Reno. But how that will affects the game is beyond my guess. Otherwise, what he said gives me the 'gay' feeling :?

It's pretty much a standard rule of life...

...The harder somebody is trying to "sell" you an idea, the more that idea is bullshit.

It seems that we are now just to sit and know very little more about FO3 and buzz a lot more , this kind of news by Pete Hines is IMO irresponsible, 'cause it doesn't say anything and only creates a lot of fuss. Nevertheless I still wait for FO3 with anticipation

I guess what he means is that they will see what the fans liked in the previous games of the series and want in the next game an than really work hard on these itens. Like they did with mounted combat and crossbows...

Of all the dumbass rehashed crap he has said, that line pissed me off the most.

STFU BETHESDA!

Fallout 3 isn't your fucking "baby," it is the child the courts had removed from his father, and handed your rich ass, because the father couldn't afford to feed him anymore.

Ya... their kind of press releases are a really good analagy of some girls. The kidna you HATE to date as all they do is tease, just a little here and a little there, but never enough to get what you REALLY want. Some teasing is good, but eternal teasing is bad.

Simple saying "We've got it, it will be just like F1&2 and fans wont be disapointed" isnt going to cut it... you have to say why fans will like it and give examples. Screen shots, stats of the engine used in it, if its going to be a upgraded version of the engine or not, if your going to use the SPECIAL system or not, etc.

Basicaly I get a vibe like "Were making it, you will like it, you will buy it, whats in it or its about or what were doing isnt your concern" In kinda a comunistic approach to gaming without the phisicaly bad side effects.
