Fallout 76 - A Scary Window into Bethesda's Fall from Grace

Carbon Dated and Proud

A thirty minute video talking from the perspective of a Bethesda fan who feels betrayed and confused by the game. A person (like me) who love Fallout 3, Skyrim, and are okay with Fallout 4 hate on 76. There's a difference even if some people can't see it.

Morrowind was already starting to have certain design choices that were passed on to Oblivion, but it still had some similarities with Daggerfall. Oblivion is where everything went to shit, just a casualized crappy game made to appeal to as much people as possible. To the point they removed stuff from Morrowind because it couldn't fit in the Oblivion's disc, instead putting full voice acting because that's "what the kids want".

This just shows that they stopped caring about making meaningful RPGs. So this video is a tad behind on Bethesda's fall from grace.

And it's really fucking hilarious seeing these people feel "hurt" because Bethesda is showing its true colors. People defended declining shit like Fallout 3 and Skyrim and are only surprised now? These games just showed a trend starting from Oblivion and Fallout 76 is just latest state of said trend. You don't have any right to cry foul at anything now when a lot of people have been doing that for well over 10 years, specially when the same people who criticize anyone who thought Oblivion and onwards were crap for "living in the past" or other nonsense to justify everything in these games are now criticizing Bethesda.

Its this kind of argument that basically comes off like Republicans criticizing the ACA and then being confused at why the Democrats are critiquing it as well but for different reasons. *GRATITOUS POLITICS REFERENCE* The thing is, Bethesda fans LIKED Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3. They wanted MORE of this.

It's NOT that it's like these games.

It's that it's NOT like these games.

The people who hate these games are getting it wrong because they can't wrap their head around the fact we wanted more games like the ones we liked and got something totally unlike it.

You don't get to feel "betrayed" or "hurt" with Fallout 76 because you saw this coming. You saw the trend of each game since Oblivion taking stuff from the previous game and yet you said nothing. You were fine with Fallout 3 taking out everything that made the first two Fallout games good and add nothing its place. You were fine with Oblivion removing stuff from Morrowind. You were fine with Skyrim taking out even more stuff that were in the previous games. You were fine with Fallout 4 taking out even more stuff than 3 did.

It's this lax attitude of many people that led to this. You allowed this to happen because you decided to stay quiet and do and say nothing, instead you just decided to buy the game. Me and many others saw when the train hit, you just saw the wreckage an hour later. Instead of asking for more meaningful RPG elements, you just gobbled up everything they did and said nothing. You deserve a game like Fallout 76, while me and many others didn't deserve a game like Fallout 3 or Oblivion.

Again, your argument falls apart and doesn't make any damn sense from the second sentence on.

Why? BECAUSE WE LIKED FALLOUT 3 MORE THAN FALLOUT 1 AND 2. Fallout 3 is my all time favorite game after Skyrim. They made the game different from those when I wanted them to be MORE like those games.

It's not a hard concept to grasp.

Open-world shooting and looting is awesome. It's just they ruined that and did it badly.

Really no difference between Fallout 3, 4 and 76. They are all the same, same pointless looting and shooting nonsense. 76 just drops the pretense of quests having any meaning, meaning the quests of Fallout 3 and 4 just give an illusion of depth when they have anything but.

Same for Oblivion and Skyrim, they are all the same and you have to be blind to not notice it.

Again, you deserve Fallout 76.

well here's what i have to say to that.

get ready to be replaced by an entirely new fandom that somehow has even lower standrards because if bethesda has one running theme, this is it. it's what they did to elder scrolls fans (twice) and its what they've done to fallout fans (thrice).

take it sleazy.
