Damn, that is something i wish i could join. Maybe one day.

Why is it on November 16th? Is there any significance to that date? The game came out October 19th, that would have made more sense.

And that tweet from the Fallout account is hilarious because the NCR and Legion never have a battle at Goodsprings.

Don't really know why, the previous years it was hosted june 8th and November 11-12th.

The owner of the Goodsprings Saloon said that October is the time of Halloween, especially since Goodsprings is already famous as haunted attraction before the popularity of New Vegas. November is basically the empity month that perfect for the event, and also because the weather is nice for cosplayer donning heavy gear and such. The 2022 event for instance (the first of this kind of thing) was set in July or June, with the weather being very hot for everyone there. It was kind of jury rigged event, invitation for any Fallout fans that are just nearby, like in Vegas and Nevada to come over if they got time. But because the attendees were basically 10 times from the projected comer (500 vs 50 people) the owner loved it a lot so he turned the whole thing into permanent annual event.

Apparently MCA or Sawyer said they mess a bit with Colorado River because scale it perfectly would create problem (in gameplay and size)
Cottonwood Cove is really Cottonwood because on its other side of the river you have Carp Cove and in game that is Lakelurk Cove, an unmarked location that has plenty of Lakelurks.
