Fallout: New Vegas Developer Diary #6 - The Characters

I thank my lucky stars that at the very least the voice acting has improved. Much as I liked Oblivion, the omnipresent voice of Brother Jauffre and the Nords/Orcs continue to haunt my dreams to this day.

I could listen to these guys all day.

They definitely recaptured that whole Western feel that Fallout 3 didn't even attempt.

Voice acting has def. improved. Curious to see who does the Super Mutants seeing as people flipping their shit cause Wes Johnson isn't doing them, which is to be expected seeing as the VO recording is done in Cali. this time around.

I hope they will continue to hire larger and more talented voice casts like they have done for New Vegas. They've historically always hired a couple big name actors to do some of the voice work, but they wouldn't have very many lines or would disappear quickly in the story (Patrick Stewart dies in the first 15 minutes of Oblivion :-/).

Super mutants are Marc Graue, Robin Atkin Downes and John Eric Bentley.

Kris Kristofferson is so awesome.

The entire cast is regarding the voices of "older" actors.

Very nice. Many thanks.

Considering the amount of hype behind the fact he was in the game, I was shocked that he died in what? 10-15mins?

Load times are way shorter.

To be honest in comparison to Fallout 3 Obsidian did a nice job in the technical area so far.

That is of course compared to F3. So, not saying much.

Pretty much. Writing's better though. Haven't seen any combat yet, so I'll be skeptical for that.

Same shit + iron sights. The guy who was playing sucked ass though.

Oh Obsidian...

combat is similar.

the effects of dehydration is cool

and the affects of being wounded in the head are much more pronounced.

and quest and the reasons you go on them seem to be much more fleshed out.

More backstory present in the game already as well.

I am liking what I am seeing.

Did he pirate it? Pirates are the fucking worst players at games.

EDIT: What are the effects of dehydration?

I will keep my opinion back at combat. Two reasons.

1. Sucky Player

2. That combat will look similiar we knew from the beginning. Yet I don't know how it actually feels.

Will wait till I can play it myself.
