Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay

No you weren't, I posted it before you did. Scroll up in the other post. :)

It's not like it matters anyway, I don't think they thank people for being the first to post news anymore.

Haha, it's all good. @ Guiltyofbeingtrite, I could say that the GMG doesn't have the cool bonus of doing radiation damage to your opponents, but it's not like you can really tell anyway. If weapons like the microwave emitter and fat man that deal radiation damage slowed down enemies or made them stop for a second to throw up, it would be awesome. Since they don't, though, your point has weight.

ugh, this looks way too much like Fallout 3. not that I expected otherwise, but I'm pretty hyped about F:NV and thought I'd be able to overlook the horrible graphics and animations (things I normally don't care that much about). but this video makes me feel like it'll have a bitter aftertaste of Fallout 3 no matter how much better it is in other areas.

look at those mutants when you shoot at them. they don't even flinch, then usddenly fall down like a sack of potatoes.

It's annoying to me when time is wasted on weapons that are very similar. It is understandable in an FPS where range, velocity, and rate of fire make a large difference, but not really in a game like this. Fallout Tactics was incredibly guilty of this, tons of assault rifles but you never really had a hard choice on which to use.

I much rather them ditch the Fat Man, keep the GMG (an actual practical and real weapon) and add more of a variety of rifles. Also, the GMG better have a high strength requirement, the gun weighs about 75 pounds.

Explosions and gun gameplay looks better in that video, compared to Fallout 3.

But that's all we can see so far... gun gameplay. :P

Also we can see the old Fallout 3 super mutants and the Nightkins. And how the stealth boy-Nightkin was poping up looked... strange.

The Archimedes II laser looks much weaker than I thought.

that orbital laser thing looks even more ridiculous ingame than sounded in previews :(

And that nightkin with the two-handed sword looks like he came straight from some fantasy game.

Still, I liked some things.

Someone established in a previous thread that the GMG DOES exist in some capacity in the real world, but I'm highly dubious as to its practicality. As you said, it weighs like 75 pounds.

I totally agree. In my mind, it would've been balanced because you could use the remote beacon in the field but then enemies would have had to actually walk close to it to be in its range, and you couldn't be near it or else you'd get fried too, and blah blah blah. Instead it looks like you fire it like you do any other weapon and it has several "rounds" before its "ammunition" is depleted. So, so dumb.

yep, the GMG is mounted on Humvees and other infantry vehicles, much like the Browning M2 from FOT, so I'll accept a character being able to wield it as long as the strength requirement is 9 or 10.

Keep in mind, a minigun is mounted on something in normal as well. :>

In Fallout, the requirements are 7.

Just action gameplay from this fucking engine, well... it looks horrendous and gives me bad flashbacks. Grenade miniguns and orbital lasers also don't look very... inspiring.

The lighting and overall mood looks better than F3 but sheesh. Way to go to put together a really uninteresting video.

EDIT: Though upon rewatching, the recoil (or whatever it's called, the shaaaaaking) on the minigun looks a bit more powerful here. Or maybe it was the same as in F3, can't really remember.

Have you noticed that the super mutant have been 1:1 a Fallout 3 one? Also the other Nigthkins got only all-white eyes, as far as I could see it. Now I hope that the video material is out of some older version, in which the mutants haven't been replaced yet (remember about the placeholder things, etc. which we talked about in some older news).

those kind of videos are built to make kids go "mom look at this! plllz look at this mom! I want it for xmass pllllzzzzzz"

anyway see a nightkin in F3 engine feels kinda odd :o
