Fallout Themed Astounding Science Cover Art

Diarmada

First time out of the vault
I thought I would post some Astounding/Analog Science cover art for your viewing pleasure...

These have what I consider a Fallout-theme, many seem to illustrate certain aspects of the game...I will let you decide...

Are you high on some of your brain-attacking toxic gas? Fallout was heavily influenced by 50's EC comics.

So stop smoking that truck exhaust pipe already.

'Wattz 1000 Laser Pistol' maybe, but other just your schizofrenia

Uhh, that was real smart quip, cannot wait for your next post...
The only problem I have with ever posting anything around here is because of this exact situation...people who are very negative cause the boards to be inhabited by tumble-weeds...just thought someone might enjoy these covers, I have tons of them and instead of just posting them for their intrinsic value as 30's to 60's Sci-Fi, I thought I would add a bit of Fallout humor, oh well...at least I tried.

Muff: I got them from a cool site dedicated to classic Sci-fi mags, here's a link:

They are actually pretty neat, Dia. And I actually found those description texts quite amusing.

Btw, are these pulp magazine or comic covers?

If you have any more, post please!

(And don't give a shit about Mr. Toxic-Gas-Sniffer.)

Edit:
Of course they are pulp magazine covers. Now I am just playing stupid.

Post'em, keep them coming. People enjoy them.

Pay no heed to the carbon monoxyde inhalator.

Thanks Angrim and Wooz, Ive not developed that thick armor that one needs to navigate forums and the like, maybe I won't ever....

Its weird, but I felt that I championed some of the stuff Lich was doing in other threads, his comics are pure genius, guess professional courtesy extends one-way....

Oh yeah, I like your site Wooz, thought a lot of the pics were good....I was always friends with taggers, being an old-school punker (before the term mosh was known), but I have little skills (none)...

ok on to the onslaught:

Those are some nice covers along with some pretty clever captions that you've added to them. I've enjoyed them quite a bit. Please keep on posting them. :)

KILLDOZER! Ahahahahahaha! God, that is hilarious.

Oh, and I just noticed that "The End Is Not Yet" is written by L. Ron Hubbard :D

Wootness, more awesome pics.

You better grow one, gramps! :D

Thanks. I'm making a new website, as soon as I'm done making the new layout for an uber-awesome post-nuclear site.

being an old-school punker

Oi oi oi!

Thanks Dark Legacy & Morpheus...

Angrim, there are a ton of L. Ron's stuff in some of these, there is even a whole series on his dianetics, before it was turned into a religion...

Wooz...how did you know I was in an Oi band??? heh, oh the memories...

Here are a few more....enjoy:

I wish people would actually read Killdozer.

But no, all people are familiar with are terrible Steven King movies, and laugh off the entire concept. Why should anyone shed the mantle of their ignorance and see if the story is any good?

if your suggesting that we were making fun of the story, it's not the case, I simply thought the cover art was too awesome to not post, Sturgeon's story aside...

Sturgeon is the best, his westerns are great, but he is often mulled over for some of his peers...the whole 'I, Libertine' debacle was sheer genius....I am a fan, I own most of his work...just thought it was an awesome rendition of a great character...

I don't know about the Killdozer story and (probably) haven't seen the Stephen King movie. I just found the cover itself hilarious.

Sorry for being ignorant! ;)

Perhaps better described as "Stupid, primitive, distrustful, and unbelievably ugly?" For those who don't get it, and to save further explanations, that is a description of trolls from the English edition of "Gnomes."

Hurruph, as long as it is only the cover.

As the saying goes, I don't judge the book by its cover.

And it's good to know that other people recognize the good ol' classic "Gnomes" from my avatar.

dont sweat it Angrim, no harm, no foul....the story, and pretty much all Sturgeon stories are worth a read...maybe his "Thunder and Roses" to start off with...

Here is an image I doctored using the F3 Vault Girl...I know, I know, its probably crap...but I thought someone might like the resurection of such a lovely image....
