Ok, whats your favorite weapon, and why? I also have a question...how do you get the Alien Blaster? The only way I've gotten it is using the Inventory Editor. I know it's a gun in the game, but I can't find it. Thanks

P.S. My favorite gun is probably the M72 Gauss Rifle or pistol...excellent range and major damage. Second fav: Bozar. Outstanding damage.

gauss pistol (rifle) , 233 pistol, magnum with speedloader,
bb gun se, bozar, turbo plasma rifle, and pulse rifle.
that's all.

my best weapon Fav
Sniper rifle, not so good but fun to use.
Sawed off shotgun, not so good but fun to use.

The weapon i think is the best.

Boozar. Slaughter!!!!!!

The wrench. Nothing is more satisfying then hunting Enclave troops with a wrench.

I gota go with either the super shock stick (powerful, low ammo expendature, and easy to get your hands on) or the .44 revolver becasue of its fun little -1 AP cost for all its actions. I almost always keep this in my inventory as a back up weapon.

But you really can't help but love the tommy gun, suuuuure the ammo is hard to find, but I just wander around New Reno (I mean outside the city) and pop off all the groups of gangsters you find. Its not a perfect gun, in fact it has a lot of issues, but in the end you can't beat a tommy gun for style!

Thats about it... but I haven't had much trouble with the old trusty sharpened spear!

I always use the M72 gauss rifle. It does good damage. I do not like the Bozar however. Sure it can take out a lot of enemies with one shot but that makes it a little to easy. I have the solar scorcher as my backup weapon because you do not need additional ammo.
Also the mega power fist is a nice weapon for unarmed char.

Hand gun......... .223 pistol (I love the "boom" it makes)
Shot gun......... CAWS (O.K. not as good as P.J. but looks cooler!)
Machine gun...... Mauser(O.K. its not a machine gun but with
the HKalpha Mod it is! (MSG I think) 30 rounds, good damage, plentiful ammo(10mm),and with bonus rate of fire perk
only 2 action points!Very fun early in the game!
Rifle(early)..... Scoped hunting rifle(again the HK mod version of it)Think Sniper rifle with a burst mode and more ammo!(30):)
Rifle(later)..... Gauss (nuff sed!!)

To answer the other part to your question regarding the alien blaster, after you reach level 12(I think) just wander east to west 4 squares above Modoc. Here you will encounter Willie and some guards. Now what he has for sale is totaly random and it will
probably take several(a lot)of encounters with him to get the blaster.Yes his prices are sky high but I've discovered that Willie seems to be immortal!Kill him ,take what has,get encounter again and then kill him again! This way instead of purchasing 1 blaster you get 5!!!

.44 Revolver. If she could cook I'd friggin' marry her. It is so satisfying to nail lowdown robbers at night in the back as they run away through the trees, and fall forwards and hopefully hit their head on a rock, but nothing beats walking down the road of Redding, (in robes or a leather jacket) to that cowboy duel style music (if you listen hard enough, you can even hear one of the duelists drumming his fingers on his holster) and going to see the sheriff. You gonna slap leather and draw that smoke wagon or just stand there and sweat, says Marion. Screw you, eat .44 hollow point, says I. Then a black guy came up and killed me with a blow to the head with a sledgie. Apparently, there was a weird sensation in my head, then I realised it was imminent brain-death.

alien blaster is a wild wasteland perk item... its where you find the gauss rifle without killing brotherhood or buying it from them but if you dont have wild wasteland its a guass rifle...

now my favorite weapon would have to be either "this machine" because of its reliability and and its accuracy but its downfall is the fact it only holds eight shots and uses expensive .308 ammo, my second favorite or my alternative would have to be the .45 thompson that comes with the broken hearts add on so i guess you have a regular game gun and an add on gun so yep...

@ajmmorrow
We're talking about fallout 1/2 weapons. This isn't the new vegas section.

Anyway, for the most part of 2 I use small guns due to low ap cost and cheap ammo. Until I get near the end I tend to use that 10mm smg that only requires 5 ap to fire. It's great to be able to do 2 burst fires in one turn. My other weapon is the pancor jackhammer. You can't go wrong with the best shotgun in the game.
When it's getting near the oil rig, I dump all my skill points into big guns and energy weapons and get a bozar and a pulse rifle.

Flares to the eyes in fo1/2 because of criticals like a motherfuckar.

Flares are weapons? How many years now have I been playing without knowing this?

I always just thought they were junk for bartering.

I like the fo2 pulse rifle, cause my energy weap is over 100%. Absolutely beast.

Also I don't quite like the 'real-life' guns in fo2. To me it doesn't quite fit with the retro future setting, I much prefer fo1 weapons to the realistic guns. Feel free to feel different.

Ya. Not really as weapons by themselves, but...

Here is the deal with Flares: 1) When dropped on the ground in multiples their light effect is cumulative, increasing the radius of the bright spot. 2) When thrown, they are automatically lit if it's dark; this is determined by the map's overall light level. 3) When lit, a Flare burns for two hours and then disappears. 4) Making aimed throws with Flares doesn't increase the AP cost, which is 1. 5) Flares tossed at people in power armour may cause blindness, loss of consciousness, crooked limbs or death pretty much like bullets do, and arguably they are more humiliating.

Low AP costs, can be found anywhere, and damageless criticals are always fun to fuck around with. Plus they have a +20% to hit modifier

Oh yeah my favorite weapons,

Fallout - The 9mm Mauser off Gizmo's corpse, I like the low AP cost and accuracy and often use this as a backup weapon in the early game. I also killed the Deathclaw outside the Hub with it a couple days ago which is probably why I'm picking it as my favorite now.

Fallout 2 - The pulse rifle for being both easy to get and incredibly powerful. I have shot many an Enclave soldier in the eye with this fine weapon.

Most of Fallout's weapons were real life guns? Fallout 2 just added more of them. :?

Wow, I just realized this thread is 11 years old...

Haha, wow.

The weapon I like for artistic reasons as opposed to usefulness is the 10mm pistol for being based off this:
