Favorite Film of 2010

Faceless Stranger

Board Drifter
Welp, as the year comes to a close, I figure we should all tell what we found to be our favorite movie released this year.

Mine was "Let Me In", and I think this may just take the seat as my all-time favorite movie. It was dark, and stylish, with Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee giving hauntingly mature performances, only compounded by the beautifully dark score.

I haven't seen too many movies this year, but I would have to say Inception. It reminded me of a more serious Philip K Dick story. It was very well made and was pretty cool at times. There were some minor plot holes (such as if in the one dream they were floating, wouldn't they float in the others as well?). the twist OMG WTF WAS IT REAL ending was kind of expected, but still over all a very good movie.

I think I have only seen 3 movies from this year, Book of Eli, which was ok, Hot Tub Time Machine, which was better then I was expecting it to be, and Inception, which was damn good.

so I choose Inception.

Nicolas Winding Refn's "Valhalla Rising". I just recently saw it and i was stunned. A violent, psychedelic trip into the mind of a viking slave. Great. Very minimalistic set and script - Refn lets the pictures and the awesome landscapes talk - which works even if you're a fan of action movies.

If Inception and The Matrix were released in the same year, everyone would see just how crappy Inception really is.

IMO just because you haven't had a Matrix-like movie in a while is no excuse to drool over mediocre pretentious nonsense. But that's just me.

I haven't really seen any mind-blowing movies this year. Last year's District 9 shattered my jadedness and awed me. Nothing since has come close.

I didn't like Inception much at all, I just don't think there was much of a point to any of it. Iron Man 2 was pretty terrible. I personally loved Kick-Ass and personally think it had a lot more going for it than Inception, which just seemed like a Hollywood attempt at a serious thinkingman's film.

I haven't seen Inception yet. Hot Tub Time Machine was indeed not that bad, Kick-Ass was pretty cool but the cake goes to the third of three 2010 movies I have seen: How To Train Your Dragon.

Oh yeah, I loved "How To Train Your Dragon", though it was a complete ripoff of Harry Harrison's "Death Planet".

But it was a well-done ripoff. Also, Toy Story 3 was good :)

That was a great surprize indeed. I didn't even hear anything about the movie until I saw it, but I'm very glad I watched it.

The Road was my favorite this year. Even though I liked the book a bit more it was a very nice adaption to it.

I liked CopOut with Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. The scene in the police car with them and stiffler playing "knock knock, whos there?" was just fucking awesome.

Also not sure if it was 2010 but Blood: The Last Vampire, while it had terrible CGI, had some of the best fight coreography I've seen in years.

The remake of I Spit On Your Grave is probably my favorite. Not sure how many people here caught the limited release though.

Robin Hood is another.

Machete. Tied with The Expendables.
Well, I didn’t watch that many movies this year.

Rare exports. Best christmasmovie EVER. With dark humor and naked elves chasing you in the middle of fuckin nowhere(=Lapland) you cant go wrong.

Thanks for the introduction, I'll have to check this out.

I found it strange that I liked Scott Pilgrim so much. Thought it would be shit going in, came out thinking it was movie of the year.

Then I found out it was directed by Edgar Wright, and everything made sense.

The Road is by far the most depressing movie I have ever seen. I don't know why but when the man is cleaning the boy's wound at the very start, something clicked with me and I found it almost unwatchable. Amazing movie, but I doubt I'd ever want to watch it more than once.

Hot Tub Time Machine - Infantile stupidity

Inception - Incredible movie, worth seeing several times

Kick-Ass - Stupid and campy ending, the rest is alright

The victor is Tron.

Inception - I really liked the storyline and the acting was good.

Salt - Good thriller, definitely one of Angel Jolie's better movies.

Kick-Ass - funny as hell, hoping for 2nd movie.

Predators - wish it would have been bit longer and more combat scenes.
