I keep reading that the highest science check requires 170% skill, and it's mostly just for a laugh. Anyone know what that is? Or at least where to find it? Can anyone confirm that it even requires this much skill?

I'm only aware of the requirement to have skynet as a companion (it's >120% I believe).

IIRC it's 130%. And it's a hard requirement instead of % chance.

Ahh, you're definitely right on the hard requirement. I always aim for 121 or so and usually have to reload or level up and get skill points in.
The highest hard check is 175%, for downloading an useless "word list" from terminals on Enclave oil rig.
