Glowing One

as long as you carry rad away with you youll be fine. I once used him in Kansas city and left him and some others guarding the front gate. I had killed everything in site and was running around picking up usefull items when I noticed the front gate people taking damage. So I ran up front. Nothing there..went back to picking up items..they took damage..ran up front..nothing there..went back to picking up items..they took damage.. okay so you get the picture. I had a momentary brain fart and forgot about the radiation.

So in essence, if left with the ghoul for long periods of time it will begin to hurt your team.:)
 
That's weird, I had the one eyed ghoul (really good sniper!) and he didn't have that trait of glowing one.

But most of the ghouls do have it. They make other members of the party sick from radiation and I find it really doesn't take very long. Exposure time includes travelling in vehicles, which sucks too.

You can carry rad away, but over the course of time you will go through quite a bit of it. I just tend not to take them along, as its just not worth the extra effort. If you must have one along, have the whole party take rad-x, then keep an eye out as time goes by. Members of the party will start to lose traits, which is an acute problem for your heavy gunners especially.
 
was wondering.. since they take damage.. can you kill people with the ghoul standing beside'em for a few hours, without receiving a penalty ?
 
Don't know never tried. hmmm. wonder if the would work with the merchant.?
 
I doubt it very much. The radiation takes some time to do any real damage, and if the ghoul is standing right next to someone he is probably going to be shot at. However, if you got all day, you might lower a trait or two on the merchant, who you can't attack anyway.
