Going to start up a FO1 run, any mods I should check out?

Got it. Going to nab that Hi-Res one when ever I get this damn game running on consistent basis. seems to be unable to relaunch after it's first boot up and it won't let me look at the directory for what ever reason.

There are some system directories copy-protected by UAC in Win7, perhaps that's the problem. Try to avoid them when installing the game, or disable UAC.

Why whats up with it?

Never had any problems but the occasional color problem, but keeping up the color resolution screen on the control panel fixes that.

Got me, but I've got in running stable now.

anybody use that 7 zip for rar files? is there a better one out there?

7-Zip is free and fast for me. Rar is fine, Zip is also fine. I got all 3.


For Fallout 1 - After you finish your first run with the mods that Valcik recommended, for the second run, I recommend Fallout FIXT.

Hmmm keep getting errors when ever I try install something into the Fallout folder. just gets hung up on the progress bar.

I use both 7-Zip and WinRAR, but mainly WinRAR because it works for everything for me. I almost never use 7-Zip, only when I can do something with 7-Zip that WinRAR can't do, which is really rare.

But there are other ones out there. You just have to look. Try Win-Zip. Or try one of those old ones which came out around the Win-93/Win-98 eras.
