Good games that will run on a crappy system?

PastaMasta

Mildly Dipped
Yeah, I've got pretty bored of fallout and I'm afraid of playing farenheit incase it breaks my system. So I think its time for you fine gents to reccomend me some games!

I've played

- San Andreas
- PS:T
- Worms : Armageddon
- Arcanum
- Loads more

I've played most of those too. So I assume you can play all the one's I've played:

Silent Hill 2, 3, 4
Doom 3
Indigo Prophecy(very underrated game, highly recommended)
GTA 3, VC
Fable 1
Wasteland
Eye of the Beholder 1, 2, 3
Morrowind

If your video card is better than mine, I greatly suggest you get Resident Evil 4.

And many others. What's your specs? Mine are:
P3 3.0ghz
Geforce FX550
80gb Seagate
1 gb RAM
Onboard audio(intel, I think)

Lol. Indigo Prophecy=Fahrenheit.

Anyway.

If you can play San Andreas you can probably play KoTOR I and II, I'd give those a whirl for sure.

Also, GalCiv II. That game. Oh boy.

Also.

Also.

Try Beneath a Steel Sky, it's free, it's awesome. Do it.

That's all.

Celtic Kings: Wage Of War or Celtic Kings: The Punic Wars

I love those two RTS games, the latter because it's more varied with two new civilisations and the first because there is no "cheat" button... I wont go into details but you will see if you try them out.
But start with Punic Wars, and if there is a way to deactivate the "cheat button" I would really like to know how!!!

I just stumbled upon this and found myself agreeing with every choice except Peggle.
I prefer Monkey Island 3 over the first two though. *gasp*

And also:
Heroes of Might and Magic 2+3, Psychonauts, The Neverhood, Beyond Good & Evil, Death Rally, Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, MDK, Rainbow Six 1+2, Duke Nukem 1-3, Doom 1+2
I could just go on and on...

Thats the thing, I have fable sitting here and my card can't handle it. (It's onboard) so naturally doom 3 wont work etheir, thanks for the suggestions though, you all rock. :D

The Longest Journey
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (part 2)
Nocturne(the best survival horror game i have ever played)
Chronomaster(wonderfull point and click adventure game)
Dark Earth
Blair Witch Projeckt 1,2,3
Blood 1 & 2
Aquanox
and probably a lot of other games i can't remember now.

Ports of Call. It's free these days! I rediscovered it when they released it for the iphone. not free thought but still as awesome.

Ah the memories - I have played that game to bits so many times!

Ports of Call is free now? Where?

*Heads to Google to find out ...

Under a Steel Sky looks interesting, Dave Gibbons is one cool mutha. I'll give that a try maybe.

Do try it, it is one of the better Point'n Click mouse driven Adventure games out there.
Sometimes the humor can really make you chuckle and sometimes you think the people of Union City have lost their minds. (this is actually part of the game)

Oh, and in case it has not been mentioned yet; Deus Ex.

I have already installed it again, this time it stays.

There is a game called Evil Genius where you build a lair, recruit henchmen and battle James Bond inspired secret agents. I highly recomend it.

Also, WH40000 Final Liberation, protoplast of the Dawn of war one can say but it is turn strategy. Great fun

System Shock. 1994 game. One of my favourite games. Nothing beats searching empty hallways of a derelict spacestation, seeing the dead crew members and signs of battle. Oh and the controls take time to get used to.

Star wars: Tie fighter.
Be evil empire soldier.

C&C + C&C Red Alert
Timetraveling and mammoth tanks.
Cant go wrong with that.

Quake 1/2
Kill demons or kills aliens.

Civilization 1/2/3
build a super power from mongols.

Gta 1 or/and 2
Nothing beats good old top down violence.

Icewind Dale
It should be okay. Unless you dont have a Pentium 2.

Been trying to find a decent version of the soundtrack to that game for years. :(

May I suggest Original War. Mostly for being pretty original and it has some really nice 2D graphics and runs on ancient computers.

Second Evil Genius, dirt cheap and incredibaly fun. :D

Hearts of Iron 2. Great game, get the new patch and enjoy! If you get bored with the normal game, try mods. There are many mods for many tastes. Mods that make the game more complex or harder (Mod34, Historical Stony Road, CORE), Alternate History (Kaiserreich is great), other historical periods (1914, Cold War, Modern Day Scenario), mods based on books (there is a lot of things based on Turtledove's books) and there's even a Fallout mod.

I was going to suggest System Shock 2, which is one of my favorites.

also Silent Storm + expansion. might be a bit too hard on your video card though.

Probably not a good idea, Silent Storm has vicious system requirements.
You can't go wrong with something like Battlefield 1942 and its myriad expansions. Good arcade gameplay that's simple yet addictive, it's kept me busy for long stretches of boredom.
