Has anyone seen "Critical Role"?

First time out of the vault
It's a show in which voice actors play Dungeons and Dragons every week on twitch. They even got Vin Diesel into the show in a spin off episode:

Here's their own campaign:

Yeah, And in my opinion it highlights the bad part about dungeons and dragons that i find. You see, I have a background that goes way back to a serious roleplaying community on dayZ and everything was done in character while in game. Emotes and actions that couldn't be demonstrated physically was done via text in the arma 2 text box and generally it tried to adhere to the concept of what life would be like if an Apocalypse happened.

Dungeons and Dragons is what i tried to turn to when the mass exodus (Is what i'll call it) happened on the roleplaying server and got a horrible experience. No importance of roleplaying elements, Lack of emphasis on story or building a unique atmosphere. Focusing on meme alignments and unrealistic behavior and expectations of characters. (Characters like people should be nuanced and flawed, Not "You're chaotic neutral so you can't do something lawful or good."

How does this all relate to shows like critical? Well, It's not my job to tell people how to play, but i do inform my GM what i expect before hand. Here, in this video i feel it sets the tone for what games should be like, It just premotes just things i wouldn't find interesting or engaging. I remember when chris Parkinson tried to appeal to the emotions of one of the characters by showing one character sibling join a cult they were attacking and when she revealed herself one of the PCs just laughed and threw his axe into her.

Just stupid bullshit to be-honest.
