How to use F2 Elevator editor by TeamX?

took a quick look.. tried to translate with bablefish.. doesn't like it... sure it's russian?

anyway.. from what i can figure out..

you unzip it to the fallout.exe directory and run it..

a "dos" window opens asking which lift to modify.. ( 1-24 )..

now the thing brings up a list of options with their current value..

judging by the weird numbers i was getting, the UK / Euro version uses different offsets

so you must get the US version of the Fallout2EXE ( available here in the downloads section as patch1.02 us version.. )

option 1 is the frm number of the elevator button panel
option 2 is the frm number of the buttons for the elevator button panel
a value of -1 uses the default buttons for it ( ie in this case 4 buttons, floors 1,2,3,4 ) can have different floors, 2-4 buttons etc...( look at each elevator and compare it with the elevator list on my site... NOTE.. elevator 1 in this program is elevator type 0 in the mapper and on my list.... etc.. )

option 3 is the number of buttons each elevator has..
next comes the options for the 4 buttons each elevator can have..
map number, elevation and destination tile...

any un-used buttons should be set to map 0, elevation 0, tile -1.

you're welcome..

think i should write it as a tutorial???

any team-x members who happen by, would you mind if i did a tutorial for it?

Wow that's cool. Elevators are hardcoded and here is small easy program... and now I can control every elevator and change everything... cool...

Has anyone worked with this program before?

I see that it initially asks for you to choose from the 24 already hardcoded elevators. Does this mean it is impossible to add new ones and only edit old ones? If I choose a number greater than 24 (say 25) it allows me to go ahead and edit things like usual. Are things actually working and adding additional elevators to the elevator list is possible or is it looping over to some other elevator and thus corrupting everything?

All the instructions are in Russian and thus I cannot get anything out of them.

EDIT: I tried editing elevator 25 and nothing seemed to happened. Plus some of the other elevators appeared to get messed up. Seems like 24 is the max and one can only edit them.

Yes, I think so too. Didn't fiddle with it, but I remember some posts (maybe even modding FAQs) mentioning it's hardcoded and you can only edit existing data.

Additional elevators might be done in form of a dialogue-window, don't you think?

Sure, but that's boring. I wanted my expansion to have everything like Fallout 2 did. 8-) :D Oh well, guess I will have to stick with the dialogue option I have already in place.

If you have the vault 14 mod, you can see how they added elevators. It is not just a text option, the screen for the elevator control pops up. It is not 100% like the original though, because the game does not stop while you access the elevator (other critters will still be moving around...even in combat).
