It Wandered In From the Wastes

Think about it. They have the Poseido-Net which gives them communications across the entirety of America. Mr House doesn't even have that. They developed defense contracts for energy weapons including but not limited to:
-Archimedes I (Prototype for orbital energy strike)
-Archimedes II (Working orbital energy cannon)
-ED-E energy weapon upgrade. This data is currently in the Follower's possession (wonder what else they know).
Poseidon Energy, most prominently their cartel member Poseidon Oil, Is entrusted with the construction of the Enclave's survival bunker (the oil rig).
On said oil rig, there is a nuclear bomb? I kinda doubt the Enclave would manufacture a nuclear bomb on their impregnable fortress for shits and giggles.
This company and the fact that it is so secretive and tightly locked down, makes RobCo and Vault-Tec look like second rate amateurs. The freaking BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL, masters at unlocking and preserving the secrets of pre-war tech, could not figure out what Poseidon was doing at Helios 1 (except Elijah). The Followers had similar luck in deciphering the mystery of the solar power plant.
Except... the Followers, specifically Ignacio, do KNOW there is something up, but even they, despite their extreme intelligence and cunning, were in the dark. All the Courier has to go on is a few sketchy bits of evidence and the Archimedes I-II button on the power mainframe.
