I have some issues with the game Age of Decadence.

1. In many walkthroughs of the game, the female sex (sex and gender are not the same thing, and do not ask me why) is displayed on the character creation menu, but the option to play as a female was not present when I clicked on New Game. Only the male sex was playable.

2. The game runs slowly for some reason. Maybe because my computer was not meant for gaming, or I downloaded the wrong file.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
I am not sure, as i tried them with a new computer, but i think that many "old-school" RPG that are made today on Unity or other new engine aren't much old-computer's friendly because the new engines aren't optimized and use unecessary ressources. There is also the fact the game is early access, a step in which things aren't usually optimized either. I hope that final games will work better. I have a 2013 computer and Wasteland 2 runs slowly for me (depending of the settings) while i have no problems with recent HD FPS like Metro, Borderlands or Rage.
 
Last time I played I think it was possible to play as a female, did you get your version on Steam? Nevertheless the game is expect to be officially release on October, so if you like to wait.
 
The female character thingy is a bug in an older version of AoD. It's fixed by now (at least for me it works without problems).

The second thingy is something nobody here can really help you with. AoD looks like an older game, but that doesn't necessarily mean it has a low performance hunger.
