Vat dipped, grown and still oozing with perfection
Hello everyone,
I was skulking around as usual and I noticed a thread about cars in the wasteland.
Which of course got me to thinking about other ways to implement travel in the original Fallout games that could have impacted game play.
Bicycles:
While I do believe there are a couple derelict bikes resting in shambles in the wasteland I always found it curious that they never turned into an item to buff the players speed while traveling across the wastes. Let alone the utility value of one in such a scenario that lacks readily available sources of fuel and power.
The good old fashioned animal:
I always thought it funny that no one actually rode a Brahmin. They can carry excessive loads of materials from distant points yet no one ever tries to ride one. They may not be fast, but it would sure as hell beat walking everywhere.
Wagon:
Depending on whether or not the player could find some mode of travel a wagon would have always been a great utility. I'm sure many of us roaming the wastes had moments of "Pick up all the things!" and went on trading binges. An accessory such as this would have been a very welcomed sight. However we also must consider the down side of the wagon. Such a utility would slow down the player in difficult terrain as well attract unwanted attention from the entities in the wasteland.
Climbing Gear:
I'm sure some of you are confused by this one, however I will go into detail.
In the original Fallout games there are times that the player will encounter cliffs, mountains, and ravines. I think having something such as climbing gear would be of great benefit when traversing such obstacles while traveling. And in the case that the player has any of the above it would be a down right necessity.
If anyone can think of additional modes of transport then please feel free to illuminate on them. For these I strongly suggest staying within the lore of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2.
