KINGDOM HEARTS III!!!!

Is the all caps really necessary?

Tells us what makes you like kingdom hearts so much. I haven't played it. Or rather, only played a little at a friend's house years ago. Is it really just an action/adventure with disney/square-enix characters?

Well I did enjoy 1 & 2 when I was younger. I'm not sure how I would feel if I play it now. From what I remember 1 & 2 both had ups and downs. 1 did not have good gameplay mechanics in some areas (Gummi ship for example), but had interesting stages and boss fights. 2 dramatically improved some areas that 1 did not do so well, but introduction of 'Spam dat triangle to win' was anti-climatic in many boss battles -_-;;

I would say that they were quite good action RPGs featuring unexpected collaboration of Disney and Square Enix though. Recently I'm not looking too favorably upon the series because one of my console fanboy friend does not stop talking about Kingdom Hearts. That actually influenced me to have negative thoughts about Kingdom Hearts O_O.

Kingdom Hearts 1&2 were solid action RPGs whose main flaws were the lack of difficulty and the narative. The pacing was generally pretty good though the grinding to deal with the side content, at least in the first game, was pretty obnoxious, as grinding always is. The gameplay was pretty rewarding: combat was engaging, despite it's ease; the level design was good, providing interesting terrain to fight in, solid platforming, and good aesthetics.

The reaction commands in KH2 were a good idea but, as previously stated, lacked polish and created too many "Press triangle to win" situations rather than "Press triangle to have new options". How it should have been done, I don't know, but what was there didn't quite work. All in all, I'm very interested in FFXIII Versus because of them.

After a decade of waiting, I realised: I don't need a third game. The series ended, happily ever after. I would always have fond memories of those two surprisingly quality games. I wish now that they had just left it there.

(then again, it was Disney, the king of milking the crap out of stuff, so what could I expect?)
