Learn about the BoS in NV on GT TV on Friday

BethBlog points out GameTrailers TV on Spike will take a look at the role of the Brotherhood of Steel in New Vegas. It airs Friday night 12:30 AM Friday night at an unspecified time zone. I love unspecified time zones.

I just hope they're shoved way back as in Fallout 2.

I really do hate the tying of Fallout to the BoS that has happened, least we can do is minimize it.

Considering there hasn't been a single shot of them, I doubt they'll play a significant role. Also, let's not forget that Fallout 3's main BoS were an Outcast group, and that this was actually stated in game.

This says much about their competency. Here it goes:

It would take no more than 5 minutes of the editor's time (or whoever the f*** put this) to determine the time zone, and it would do a huge favor to no little amount of people. However, it seems that they don't care enough to think of all this. And their employers are incompetent enough to notice that. I can track this until I start giving notes about intelligence, but I don't want to risk seeing my beautiful post in the vats.

This should be interesting. I'm hoping for a smaller role i.e Fallout 2 and hopefully the West Coast brotherhood. Also, hopefully they will have the T-51 and not the T-45b Knight Armor of the realm Mk. II

Fallout 3's Power Armor was the T-45d, Fallout 1's the T-51b. So I am hoping for T-51b use. :>

According to my TV Guide, Gametrailers TV on Spike comes on at 11:30 PM Central time on Friday night....

So, the source must be referring to Eastern time...

Still I am somewhat afraid that we might turn out disappointed, unless Bethesda was really 'hands off' on this.

They might as a consistency demand that the Western BOS has also become "We got to protect the wastelanders from evil organizations/mutants" heralds of the wasteland in order not to confuse the 'new fans'.

I can not help being negative as it often turns out they have been tinkering with the concepts, it is almost like a demand.

Another vote for original brotherhood of steel. Fallout need not be tainted by elements of Oblivion, Morrowind and TES in general. Down with flaming swords and powered armor thats more akin to ye platemails of old.

Hey, I totally agree. I think the standard though is that if it's not explicitly stated that it's EST (not that it isn't some huge oversite on their part but east coasters seem to think they run the world).

Side note where is the power armor going to come from ( and I hate to sound cliche) other than brotherhood/enclave/rare undiscovered cache sources

Something like this is what I hope for, I don't want to see every guy you down drop a shining suit of Power Armor. If you actually manage to kill the guy wearing it, it would be pretty fucked up (this is how I hope the system should be, now they've put damage threshold back in).

If the BOS were playing a more minor role in F:NV, then why would they use them as a "selling point" to get people to watch the show?

At least we know one thing that might lead to an interesting situation.
The Brotherhood and the NCR aren't exactly on speaking terms, especially after Hoover Damn and the BOS attacks on gold storages or transports (I know it had something to do with finances but not exactly what, Ausir is way better at little known facts).

Perhaps that will result in some interesting NCR vs BOS quests.

Because it's Spike. Thusly, most people watching Spike will be more familiar with BoS than NCR and want to see what their shining luminaries of hope and Wasteland justice are getting up to this time around.

We don't know if the NCR and BoS is still fighting. Everything we know so far is that the NCR and BoS had been fighting at least over Hoover Dam a while ago, where the NCR has won. Could be possible, that they are somewhat in love again.

Yup. So far, the previews haven't been clear on the BOS-NCR relationship status.

None of the previews have really been too plot centric so far. Most of it has been "this is the city, you can gamble and shoot things and such, and there are bad Romans", but story, motivation, a lot of it hasn't been reported on yet. At least, from what I've seen.

Well, we know that at least part of the story is about resources like energy. A power struggle between the factions.

I like this, because in theory it allows a lot different outcomes.
