LH mod something something

DjDude

First time out of the vault
Can someone help me? I don't know what is wrong with my game, after a few days that i installed and played LH mod, something strange happende when I was gonna play the original Fallout 2. The LH mod loading text showed up and the LH start menu showed up instead of the original FO2. My saves are still there but i can't play at those saves or else the game crashes. I've unistalled FO2 many times but the problem is still there. I've removed the LH mod from the Fallout 2 directory, but it's still fucked up. Can someone help me please? I'm desperate and i just wanna play my favourite game again.

i think i deleted the draw.ini files, but i removed alot of shit form the fallout 2 directory in hope to fix the problem( but the problem remained the same

Have you deleted the /blackisle/fallout2/ folders? Completely erasing all the files is always a good start, also restarting your computer after an uninstall/install has fixed a lot of problems for me in the past.
Give it a go, and if that fails, check to make sure Fallout 2 has been deleted from your program registry.

Didn't work :( But the fucking mod started to behave like this after i Installed a Hi-res patch. I deleted all the damn files and re-started my computer, but it didnt do didley squat ><, can someone who is a good programmer or something help me? It would be good if the one who is nice enough to help me could give me his/her MSN so I can directly chat about all the problems. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT!! PLEASE!

Well, I see what you have to do. So many topics, so many posts, so many people who help you. You wrote that you erased all files from Data in your Fallout2 installation and you still have problems (that the mod is running anyway) == this is impossible!!!
Let try to uninstall Fallout2 at all and after this search for remains of Fallout2 installation, remove this "by hand" and install the game again!

I deleted everything Cubik =_=. Look, every time the install window pops up it says "install". I install that piece of shit and wacth the BG Advertisment after the installation. You know that after the install, the install window should show the "PLAY" button, but in my fucking case the "PLAY" button isn't clickable while the Install button is availble.... I swear this is the worst fucking mod i ever tried x_x.

sounds like something in your registry isn't being properly set / removed. by any chance, the first time you had a problem with the last hope mod, did you manually delete it (and) fallout 2? or did you use the uninstallers?

Alright, DjDude ill be as polite as possible here, though i am getting a little frustrated;
-Mostly at the attacks on forgotten knight, because attacking a modder bringing new life to our games is low at best.
-A lot, because you aren't giving us with anywhere near enough info to help us help you. eg. If it was just LH mod, ok, but why mention the resolution patcher afterwards? Be concise, just post everything you do know and everyone will jump at the chance to help, please don't be vague.

You say you have uninstalled Fallout 2, numerous times. And deleted the blackisle/fallout2 folders, could you do us a favour, just to help us help you by the way.

Install Fallout 2.

Reboot.

Uninstall Fallout 2.

Reboot.

Delete
all blackisle folders.

Reboot. (rebooting, it helps you to calm down, and lets you remember which stage you are up to. Make a list if necessary, i do it with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods all the time mate.)

Check the program registry for instances of Fallout 2

If you find them. Delete them and reinstall.

Reinstall Fallout 2.

Play.

If you cant. The only other help i can offer is a full format.
Either you are running multiple installs of the game.
(don't laugh, it can happen, even to the best of us.)
Or your computer is corrupted beyond all reasonable belief.

By the way. I did try to replicate your problem on my computer, with multiple installs, and manual deletions. Each time its been solved by the above steps.

Why the fuck taking the setup? Delet the Fallout 2 folder and install the game manually. Copy the master.dat and critter.dat from the fallout 2 cd into a folder on your hard drive. Also copy the file "FALLOUT2.___" (or so) in this folder too and rename it to "fallout2.exe". Now create a new txt file and name it "fallout2.cfg", open this file and copy into it:

Code:
    [debug]
    mode=environment
    output_map_data_info=0
    show_load_info=0
    show_script_messages=0
    show_tile_num=0

    [preferences]
    brightness=1.000000
    combat_difficulty=1
    combat_looks=0
    combat_messages=1
    combat_speed=0
    combat_taunts=1
    game_difficulty=1
    item_highlight=1
    language_filter=0
    mouse_sensitivity=1.000000
    player_speedup=0
    running=0
    running_burning_guy=1
    subtitles=0
    target_highlight=2
    text_base_delay=3.500000
    text_line_delay=1.000000
    violence_level=1

    [sound]
    cache_size=448
    device=-1
    dma=-1
    initialize=1
    irq=-1
    master_volume=22281
    music=1
    music_path1=d:\Fallout\data\sound\music\
    music_path2=d:\Fallout\data\sound\music\
    music_volume=22281
    port=-1
    sndfx_volume=22281
    sounds=1
    speech=1
    speech_volume=22281

    [system]
    art_cache_size=261
    cdlock=I:\cdlock.dat
    color_cycling=1
    critter_dat= d:\Fallout\critter.dat
    critter_patches= d:\Fallout\data
    cycle_speed_factor=1
    executable=game
    free_space=20480
    hashing=1
    interrupt_walk=1
    language=german
    master_dat= d:\Fallout\master.dat
    master_patches= d:\Fallout\data
    scroll_lock=0
    splash=5
    times_run=5

Replace the d:\ ... stuff with your paths.

Thats it, you are done with it.

OR if you still have your installed Fallout 2, delet every files except the fallout2.exe, fallout2.cfg, master.dat and critter.dat. That's it too. If this still doesn't work, you made something wrong.

Also you don't need to use the auto start function to play the game. You can still just go into your fallout 2 folder and start the game via the fallout2.exe.

The last time that I really installed Fallout 1 or 2 are years ago.

Uncie Kilberry: I didn't mean to be rude at FK, he's a nice guy. I mean that the mod somehow replaced my regular FO2 game with LH. I'm so sorry that i was rude but i was desperate, hope ya all could forgive me.

Lexx: I'll try that, see if that helps. Thanks.

EDIT: I did actually fin the original FO2.exe in one file, problem is when I move it to the FO2 directory the problem is still intact. Instead i created my own folder and moved the MASTER, CRITTER, PATCH000, fallout2.cfg to the new directory along with the original FO2.exe, and it works! I can play from my saves now :) ( only drawback is that the game is a little slower, and that I have to open the directory everytime I wanna play, but I should atleast be happy that it works ^^) Thank ya all guys, you were nice helping me ^^ You atleast gave me hope to continue to fix it :) PROBLEM SOLVED.
