Live Action Fallout....

Great song tho...

Some of you may hate this, but I love it. I've always been hankering for a good fallout movie, which I know they'll never make right. If it ever became a movie, Hollywood would ruin it anyway. This is the next best thing. Enough time to nail the aesthetic (intentionally concealing the "wanderer's" face) but not enough time to try and start a story that will no doubt be awful.

Again, I know some of you here disagree but I LOVE seeing as much pre war footage as I can. That's part of the allure and charm of this franchise to me is how distinctly nostalgic it is. In both asthetic and soundtrack. Just because that future-esk 50's isn't run down and broken (decimated after atomic war) dosnt mean I'll enjoy it any less.

On an unrelated note if they ever did make a movie, the soundtrack better be nothing but Billie Holliday, Louie Armstrong, and the like. I've been a musician since I was 13 and being a huge fan of jazz (mainly big band and swing type stuff, lots of Glen Miller, Artie Shaw, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basi as well as more contemporary jazz) I can say that the soundtrack means more to me than it does to 70% who are undoubtably going to turn their radio off in the game and turn on Dub Step. I'm 25 and I ducking hate the music my generation has gravitated towards. Yet I digress.

I'd like to see a mix of 40's and 50' jazz in the new game, yet most of the soundtracks I'm hearing are more 50's rock oriented. As I said love the song in the vid and it makes sense (lone wanderer) but as I'm making this post I'm coming to the realization that they may duck up the music in the new game.

Wow, I gotta sit down.

You're not alone, I liked it too. However, being an unabashed "casual gamer" and BGS fan, my opinion does not count here.

Everyone's opinion counts friend. I like fallout 3, yet even though I admit and see the ways the first two are better, I believe is still be hated and thus irrelevant. Yet their are still fans of bethesda here though few and far between.

Also forgot to mention The Ink Spots. Glad fallout 3 had so many of their songs ( gettin the song Black Isle couldn't secure the rights for the first fallout ) and glad to see (hear?) Fallout 4 has at least one.

God that vid makes me want my pip boy edition so bad! I'm gunna wear it everywhere. To job interviews, to weddings, to funerals, to Christmas, when I touch myself, when I go to Olive Garden. Ya know the usual.

Don't worry, Bethesda Fallout forum welcomes you. Here is our last settlement of original Fallout fans.

I mean it's just a live action trailer. There's nothing you can take from this and say that Fallout 4 is gonna be the shit game we think it will be.

It only really shows us Bethesda's whole mentality for the Fallout series and their marketing strategy. Show some things that are easily relatable/easy to understand (Dog, vault suit, power armor, no other armor, no other companions, our character even takes enemies on in a fucking vault suit) and have no actual details about story, setting etc but instead put a bunch of "exploshuns" and super mutants in it. I don't necessarily think that every live action trailer should have story and shit in it but in a game like Fallout, the focus of the game should be on story, setting, worldbuilding, survival in a post-apocalyptic world, struggles between the factions, really cool 50's/western/native american/whatever imagery etc. Focus of these trailers shouldn't be on your stupid excuse-for-bad-companions dog, that old garage dumpster and also why does your character have access to power armor when he's still in a vault suit? Yet, that's how it is. This is assuming BGS doesn't want to keep some things (and I mean, EVERYTHING) secret. It might be that the really cool AND actually interesting stuff is revealed to us in the game.

Like honestly, it's fine, it's a live action trailer. But Bethesda didn't really care to make it interesting.
