This is a request to those of you in Europe. Please send me a pm if you can help here. Help in this area would be greatly appreciated. I'm only partially involved in this, but I do want to help these guys out. Let's say the Bear Dude is calling in an obscure favor. ;-)

Thanks!

For the Assembly demo party, we are entering a demo on the Apple Lisa, an obscure machine that lies between the Apple II and the Macintosh. It is very large and heavy, so we'd really like to find one in the general area we may borrow rather than shipping one. The specs for this are:

* a working Apple Lisa 2 (preferred) or Mac XL (a later revision)
* must have a functioning floppy drive
* we would bring our own modded RAM and I/O boards, so RAM doesn't matter

We would be inserting a CF-card-based hard drive emulator as well as two custom-designed addon-bus cards (a video card and a sound card).

Since anyone loaning one to us would be saving us a lot of trouble, we'd be willing to pay them ~$200, and they get the fame of getting their lisa a lot of publicity as well as seeing some very sick add-ons for the lisa. We're confident in our electronics, and no permanent modifications would be made to the lisa. We'd be quite willing to talk to anyone with one to work out any details or concerns.

Killap, I don't own one but I know a guy who collects vintage computers I'll ask him for you and see what he has and if he is interested.

Welcome To This Old Junk / Treasure!

Welcome To This Old Junk / Treasure!

80's is vintage!

Too late to save a salvaged Compaq XT. My first DOS machine.

Only '80's hardware lurking with the grind, grind, grinding floppy drive is the C-64. Bet many have similar door stops and attic ballasts.

Oldest working (?) Mac is a cobbled together SE/30. Letter size monitor did not survive the last move. :(
Wanted to experience 'Cosmic Osmo' in genuine 9 inch black and white.
Booted OS 7, after I pimped it's hardware ---> 20 MEGS OF RAM!!!11! :o

SE/30, 1989 - 1991 …

Not Lisa era.

Saving it because … ahhh … [lie] for a center piece when I get a ahhh, get / claw out / space for a .. coffee table. [/lie]

Recently awoke an AMD Socket 7, looked for Wasteland, Sword of Aragon, and FOT saves. Video screen up dating was not comfortable.

[lie] Maybe it's the trifocals. [/lie]

Will stop the gush of nostalgia before I burn my third 'truth challenge' per post as handicapped on the internet-z.

Good luck Killap savoring / hot roding rare vintages!
