I could start the thread with something meaningful. But:

I created her character as an antithesis to the women characters appeared in the past fighting game who are excessively exposed. "Quiet" who doesn't have a word will be teased in the story as well. But once you recognize the secret reason for her exposure, you will feel ashamed of your words & deeds.

Now I'm no expert on military stuff, but I think a bra, thong and pantyhose do not offer reasonable protection for a combatant.
How is she an antithesis if she is basically the thesis?
So she's basically all the clichés, but with a secret reason why *gasp*.
Can't say I care at all.

So what will the secret reason be? My bet's on rape.
 
Maybe a young Solid Snake accidentally lit her parents on fire during the heat of battle and she developed a pathological fear of all clothing that has driven her ever since.

How so?

Rape was in the backstory for several characters in MGS4.

Nobody really complained.

Since the themes of this game are torture and loss, she's probably just be the subject of some crazy experiment or something.

Current internet ramblings are leaning towards her being used as a test subject for natural camouflage due to the trailer showing her face changing colors.
 
Ah yes, I've seen the outrage of many manbabies complaining about how sexy she looks. There was also this game dev guy who made Halo ( ? ) who complained about this. Hillarious.
 
It's not like Metal Gear Solid never had any sexy looking female characters.

Though, sometimes I wonder if the quotes from Kojima are misstranslated from japanese to english. It's a possibility.
 
Of course, I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable (by MGS's low standards, at any rate) explanation as for why she prances around half-naked. But the real reason is just plain as day; Kojima perfectly knows his audience and T&A can only increase the game's sales, not to mention the whole ''controversy!!'' thing.

I've never been interested in the franchise so I don't much care. But let's not pretend this is some kind of subversive, artistic attempt to shine a light on the double standards of our society or something. Tits sell, so he puts tits in the game. Good for him.

It is, however, really hypocritical for a Halo dev of all people to call him out on it. Hey guys, Cortana ring a bell? The AI persona that got more and more ''sexy'' with every single installment of the franchise, looking pretty much like a naked supermodel in the fourth game? I'm sure there was a deep, meaningful, artistic reason for that too, eh? And seriously, the industry as a whole is enormously guilty of this save for some developpers.
 
She was probably raped and forced to rope others while eating them and getting cybernetic implants comisioned by Richard Nixon and Kimmy Carter, and e was forced to do this for 2 decades until se finally snaped and killed everyone.

es, the Rope was the symbol of the crazt cult that did this to her, and she had to see all those people slowly withering into dust after sweating too much.
