Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
whats the most newbie thing youve ever done on fallout(2)

a friend of mine borowed fallout, he said: its difficult, so damn dificult, and by the way, whats that plinging sound that comes occatianly .....heheh, he had lots of levels and didnt know it !

and ofcourse: my brother told me: read lots of books! i was in the glow (no radX) found books, oh! gotta read them......read lots of books down there and died of the side effects or addiction to rad away having had LOTS of them to get rid of the radiation.......hmmmm

Yep, your friend is one hell of a n00b!

And you are a n00b as well!
Congratulations!

I've tried really hard to come up with something as stupid as that, but I just don't seem to remember such blunders. I guess I played both Fallout games way too much. Actually, I think I could easily finish both of them with a level 1 character. 8)

Posting the pic of the fake Fallout 3 game was like the n00best thing I ever did. But I was really stressed out at the time, so I forgave myself.

Noobest thing I ever did was play through the game the slow way instead of getting electronic lockpicks, picking brotherhood door, and getting Power Armor waaaayyyyyyy early.

Well there was this one thing which sucked. My first time through I took a crap load of rad x and rad away and went into the glow. I guess I played chess and read a book thinking I was rad proof. I then saved upon retrieving the brotherhood items and departed for the brotherhood. Halfway there I died. Since I saved, I would reload just to travel a day or two to die again. God I was such a NOOB.

When I first got fallout from a friend I was so excited, 3 hours into the game I still couldnt get passed the radscorpion cave near Shady Sands. What a n00b I was back then :)

First time I played Fallout, going to the Glow, I didn't notice the beam sticking out, so i just kept clicking and clicking, trying to find something that responded. Click click click.

When I left, I died of radiation poisoning. :)

Going to set explosives at radscorpion caves, setting timer. Running away, forgot to drop explosives. Kaboom.

Here's a good one about when I bought Fallout for my uncle a couple of Christmases ago. A few months later I heard from him and he told me that he STILL couldn't figure out how to get out of the rat cave because those damn mice would finish him off every time.

Once I explained to him how to change your cursors, ATTACK the mice, etc., etc., he instantly fell in love with the game. Hell, I think he even took a few days off of work just so he could play it. Good thing he's self-employed.

Making a character who specialized in throwing...

Heh. If it was F2 it might have made a difference but ouch that hurts for the first Fallout.

Hehehe

First time I played I somehow took a mission from Torr. Instead of guarding the brahmins I killed everything that moved in range. I don't remember what I did next, but it was sure similar :)

I stopped to disarm EVERY trap in the ToT (must have Quick-Loaded hundreds of times)

(I also played FO2 before FO1)

In F2, I had high hopes that they would raise the damage of the "laser sharpened titanium throwing knives"- sadly, it was still one point above a regular rock. (On the other hand I was glad to find the .44 magnum w/ speed loader)

Hah, I remember now!

Joined the slavers and killed every slave on the missions instead of taking them until they ran out. Earned a lot of experience and weapons and berserker status (killed more than 500 people).

C'mon, beat me!!!!!!

You must have had a terribly low LK then ... ;)

I'll share my story: I'm in the Enclave with Cassidy, Sulik and Vic and I wasted everybody there. So I drop an explosive by the reactor control, wait 10 mins, and head for the exit. As I notice Frank Horrigan in the hall, I remember that Sulik's got a crippled arm, so I decide to try to heal him before combat... KABOOM !

Oh, and my char had 8 ST w/o upgrades ;)

Same with me. I never thought that luck was essential to the process of kicking mutant ass when I had a Turbo Plasma Rifle in my hands ;)

Hehe yeah. However, I was more thinking along the lines of the holy hand grenade. I played through F2 a billion times and I decided one day it would be funny to make a throw character. I gave him like 50 holy hand grenades and kept restocking him.

It is so funny seeing enclave troopers getting blown up sometimes just by one grenade, hillarious.
