 I want to see some footage of cavalry charges. Probably would need to join a dedicated mature community on locked server to experience anything close to authenticity, since a pub game would surely turn into a slugfest deathmatch.

I've had a lot of fun with it so far. I'm not in a regiment or anything, but it's a blast.

From what a friend who plays it says, no one likes being line infantry so you tend to get a lot of specialists running around.

Eh, I can see that. Is Line Inf handeled by AI at all? Or is that all players in the video?

Depends on the play type. Sometimes it's all people but some instances the players are officers who lead their own a.i. platoon.

There may be a disproportionately large number of specialists compared to historical battles, but there are always a large number of line infantry. It's the most common class on on any given team, and the one I almost always use.
