Need Help With Crazy Accuracy Values From Edited Bozar

Judaeus Apella

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I installed restoration project 1.2, but forgot to install the random party member element option. Then I installed a weapons mod that corrected a lot of values. I still didn't like a few of the weapon values like the FN FAL and the Bozar. So I changed some very simple values and everything was working GREAT. Everything was perfect!

Then I realized my party members weren't leveling, so I remembered I forgot to install that random party member element option. So I installed it. I did that... and lost all my weapons that I had working perfectly. :( So I added the wepon mod back, and edited a few weapons to the values I had before that I liked... and now the Bozar is acting totally nuts!

When you hold the mouse pointer over an enemy you get all these crazy accuracy values that I never got before, that make no sense. Sniping distance is all screwed up like values that are in the negatives... but once you get about 10 or 12 blocks away from someone the accuracy values suddenly starts shooting way back up to normal. Then when you get closer... say 6 blocks, they go back down into the negatives again.... wtf!?

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? This is really strange and I've tried changing all the values all around trying different things... but nothing works. None of the other weapons are doing this, just the Bozar.

remove whichever perk is there and test out the result to see if it meets your liking

also note though that I believe saved games may keep their own version of pro files, so any changes you make might only be seen in new instances of the weapon - not 100% sure about this though

Nope... didn't do anything. But I think I figured out what the problem is! It still thinks its a heavy gun! I even tried reinstalling Fallout 2 and it didn't do jack. I figured it out by boosting my heavy skills to 160, and all the negative values suddenly shot up! The problem is you still can't snipe with it. It still thinks its short range. I tried every range from 45 to 70, and nothing works.

I think the patch is doing it... I guess I found a bug!! Looks like the bozar bugs out with the patch, if correctly change its value from big gun to small gun... since its a sniper rifle and not a machine gun.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem??? I want a proper sniper rifle. *sob*

Does the Bozar have burst only - you will need to change it to single shot or or give it single shot in addition to burst.

The engine might treat burst mode differently.

Yeah, I did it all properly. I made it single shot, gave it all the correct values, etc. Its screwing up really bad. Guess I found a bug with that restoration project! I tried updating this weapon without that patch, and it worked fine. But after I installed that, the Bozar starting acting all crazy when I fixed it and made it a proper sniper rifle.

No, you did not do it properly. If you had used the search function you would had found the solution to your problem.
It has nothing to do with the RP (which you so happily keep bashing, BTW) but a bug in the version of sfall that the RP 1.2 uses.

So, maybe next time you have a problem try searching for the solution instead of attacking other people's mods without knowledge of the facts.

And as several people already pointed to you in the RP thread, nobody forces you to use it, so if you don't like it simply don't install it instead of screaming "BUG IN THE RP" at every thing you find in it that you don't like.

....what are you going on about? Given the fact that it worked right before the patch, then screwed up with the exact same values after I installed it.... it was pretty easy to come to that conclusion. If there's a way around the problem I had no idea of such a thing, but if there is I'll go check it out. Thanks for the info.

Hmmmm I see its mentioned in the main restoration project thread... but there's over a hundred freakin pages in that thread! Anyone know what page its on? The search doesn't tell me, it just gives me a link with all the pages like in the main forum. :( I've always hated how forum searches do that!

I also don't see any other threads that have a fix in them that doesn't ruin the weapon's ability to punch through armor.

If anyone know's how to fix this problem please tell me? If there is a fix, it should really be listed somewhere easy to find like in a FAQ thread.

By the way, the accuracy numbers are still screwed up no matter what skill I max out. I put them all at 300% and I still miss.

Nope. :(

In another thread this guy fixed the same problem by changing the armor peircing ability of the ammo, but that just solves a problem by adding another....

Did you even bothered to read my post. I already told you the solution.

Here it is again:

Download the latest version of sfall from Timeslip's site and copy the file ddraw.dll to your fallout folder (say yes when it asks to overwrite the old one)

Oops sorry, lol. I just woke up from a nap when I read that and was probably really groggy. haha Thanks for the info.

Wait... you didn't say that in your first post. But thanks anyway.

*sigh* Thats not the same thing as what you said in the 2nd post.... in the second post you told me what to do and where to get it.

It doesn't matter anyway. I installed the latest version of SFall and now F2 doesn't even turn on. I get "wmAreaInit::Error loading Cities!" as soon as I try to start F2.

Fresh install of the game, RP, and the SFALL files... and the same exact error when I try to start the game.

Seperately, I tried reinstalling the game and then the RP to fix the bozar, and I still had all the same problems. You can't hit anything with it, because the accuracy values are all crazy. This was WITH the Restoration Project install but without the SFALL files. I also tried the weapon mod after that failed and that didn't do anything either.

Are you using the exe that comes with the RP or another one?

That error comes up when you don't have the city limit patch installed (not necessary with the RP, since its exe is already patched)

EDIT: Also if you have the RP installed don't copy all sfall files to the folder, only ddraw.dll

Yes, I installed RP correctly and I'm using the EXE that came with it, and SFall only came with the two ddraw files which is what I installed. F2 has also been crashing a lot more often since I installed RP (only)...... odd.
