Need some help with terribly bad Razer keyboard.

So to clear the air first, my wife is spoiled. Want to get this outta the way first. I had a few years ago gotten her and Alienware X-51 computer, had a good year that year and didn't mind paying for it. Well kinda did but that's neither here nor there. Well I'm notorious for getting her gifts that suck and apparently this year is no different. She is like a gold fish for shiny baubles so I got her a Razer Blackwidow Chroma keyboard. Personally I don't really need shiny shit sitting on my desk but she loves this sort of thing. Well I purchase the hunk of plastic after reading some positive reviews and watching quite a few youtube videos on what it can do and thought it was perfect for her. The problem, I plug the damn thing in and windows does its thing and installs the drivers and whatnot to get it functioning. Requires restart, I do so and log back into windows. Something already didn't seem right. Well in order to use all the features of this keyboard you need to use Razers cloud service to make it do all the shiny glowey shit. A service called Synapses. Install, then shit goes wonky. I couldn't get anything to function. Would have just restarted into safe mode but there was no way to restart without a hard shut down. Did so and logged into safe mode to see what the hell was going on and well the internet didn't provide any answers outside of some of the usual, update plugins and all that. So I did, just to be faced with the same problem, windows would not function at all. We tried to return it to the company and the retailer we bought it from but both had shady and shitty return policies (send or grab replacement, you don't get your money back fuck you) policies. So my question is what the hell is wrong with this keyboard outside of it being too expensive to be true? Is bad coding? Plug ins? Computer sucks? I'm just looking for answers because I'm out $180 on this shitty hunk of plastic, tired and stressed and it's the holidays. Helluva time for a bad gift to go totally wrong. My busiest and stressful time of year and just want my wife smiling and staring at her shiny new keyboard.

Razer themselves tried to tell me to try on another computer but am scared to, if it's the solution to make this cloud DRM keyboard work I will but just want some of you egg heads to offer some advice first. Thanks in advance.

The main issue is that it's a razer and their synapse service is a piece of shit. I only ever buy the mice they produce as they tend to be great. But every other peripheral is shit. Headsets, keyboards, speakers etc.

I would try synapse on a different computer, most likely it will work. It works fine on my computer for example. If it's the same there, the keyboard is most likely broken.
