If your computer gets hijacked with all those shit-o-rific fake antivirus and antispyware problems, follow these steps:
1. Download Dr. Web Cureit, ComboFix, Hijackthis, and CCleaner. If you can't get on the internet on the infected computer, get the programs on a flashdrive.
2. Boot the infected computer into safe mode.
3. Run ComboFix - it will likely restart your computer.
4. If problem persists, run Dr. Web.
5. If you still have a problem, run Hijackthis. This is a little harder than double-clicking and going. YOU have to pick the programs to remove. Select any random .exes from the system32 folder. If you have any doubts/questions, post your log onto a forum for help.
6. Install and run ccleaner. It'll get rid of a bunch of temp files for you and fix registry problems. If you want your cookies saved, must sure to change that option.
7. If your problem persists, use google to find another program that will take care of the exact problem you have.
At the shop I work at, I average about 3 computers a day I have to fix with that shit on there. This combination(Excluding step 7) has taken care of 96% of the cases.
