New Loading/Splash Images (and other cool post-apoc art)

I'm working on making some new Loading / Splash screens for Fallout.

This thread has a ton of links to various artwork that may or may not be suitable for Fallout loading screens. To make RIX images, see Pixote's instructions here.

The ones I end up choosing as finals and actually using, will be included in Fallout FIXT (see my sig) and if you opt to install the source code, you'll get the components of the pictures (empty without the Loading text for example)

Here's the original text from the original loading screens:
PLEASE STAND BY
LOADING!!!
LOADING FALLOUT_
PLEASE WAIT....
GET READY!

Just for the sake of reference and ease of comparison, here's the stock FO1 Loading Screens:

You kidding? The 'additional' are THE PWN! I mean, everything is nice, but they are pure gold!

I don't know if the last one (Fallout 3) would be appropriate for Fallout 1 and 2...

But it looks like a cool thing, I may have to check it out!

For load screens the 2nd and 3rd ones you listed under "additional options" are the best. The first "option" looks like a generic pile of trash. The 4th one (BOS bunker) looks too clean for me. The 5th one would work fine without the "Fallout 3" note.

The Radaway and Jet artwork would look awesome as in game art in a mod.

I cannot seem to open the .rix files. It is an outdated format dating back to DOS. This is not the best option if you want people to see them and give an opinion. Can you convert them to .jpg or some other current format that can be more easily opened and viewed?

They look great, the only thing I would reconsider is the Jet poster, as Jet was invented by Myron quite after the bombs fell.

@ Bableves
Someone from Myron's time could have taken an old Rad Away ad as inspiration to sell Jet.

Done.

Thanks for the jpegs. Outstanding! My observations on the potential loading screens:
05 -- Great
06 -- Great
07 -- OK, but looks too much like the menu picture.
08 -- Great
09 -- Good
10 -- Not so good. Good concept but sketchy artwork. Needs to be redone/finished.
11 -- No, GURPS was abandoned early in the design process.
12 -- OK as a loading screen if it's not stretched to fit the screen, better for poster artwork within game. I'd love to see it posted on a few city buildings.
13 -- Great

As for the "additional options", as I indicated earlier; the ruined car and wrecked city skyline are great. The Fallout boy test pattern would be good without the Fallout 3 note.

I hope this helps.

Awesome, thanks for your feedback :)

FWIW, "09" is the pic that displays when installing FO1 :) I always thought that picture was really badass.

I agree, since many of us who play exclusively a "good" or "bad" character may not have ever seen like half of the end-sequence pics in-game.

Well, or people who haven't played the bug-fixed versions too, lol.
