We don't take our frontpage poll very seriously (we've ran polls for 3 whole years at one time), but it's time for another fun switch anyway.

The last poll asked if you will miss groin shots. The results:
It and eye-shooting will be sorely missed
5311 - 35.5%
Groin shots were Fallout's core design!
3703 - 24.7%
Alas, poor groin shot, we knew ye well.
2895 - 19.3%
Only if my PE is below 4

Not as much as the proverbial kick in the groin

The new poll, while also not fully serious, asks a pertinent question. Prior to the release of console shooter spin-off Fallout:Brotherhood of Steel, we would regularly be told by the game's defenders (yes, it had defenders) that we'd "buy the game anyway." No matter how much we complained now, we'd end up buying it.

The same is now being said about some other title, the name of which eludes me at the moment. So just to check...did you buy Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel?
 
Erhm, I kind of miss the option for "Didn't buy, didn't play" but still not "hell no", because I would have if anyone in my surrounding would have just bought it. Which no one did.

Hell no, I didn't, but I don't think that's a fair comparison.

BoS wasn't remotely good. At all. In fact, it was so sub par that I never even heard of it - at the time I was plugged into Penny Arcade, but didn't know about this site yet. Hell, I didn't even find out about BoS until six months after I registered here.

When you're considering that other game, you at least have to admit that they have really nice bloom. And the background scenery looks good. And an orc wielding a fire hydrant is kinda unique. Basically, they manage to suck enough style out the IP to arrive at something that's approaching the south side of mediocre.

BoS, on the other hand, was (from what I understand) like watching a rerun of Seinfeld, while an excaped moneky flung its feces at the screen.
 
It was a console game, and as we all know, console games suck.
So, hell no I didn't buy it. I don't even own a console.
 
I neither bought it, nor played it. That game was touched by the Devil, and i'm not ready yet to give my soul to the horned one.
 
I don't have a console, don't know anyone who has a console, and would never rent a console. Consequently I have never so much as seen Fo:BoS.

Never played Tactics either apart from the boring demo. Someone send it to me, I'll play it. My Fo2 CD breaks into 4 pieces, I'll buy a budget bundle and play it.
 
I rented it, and played it, and had fun (I love co op games almost indiscriminately, they're nearly the only type I play these days).

But even having enjoyed it, I am still ashamed of its existence.

I bought it only for Gran Turismo 4. Played it, got bored, sold the bastard.
 
I bought it from gamestop a few months ago for 5 bucks to see if it was as horrible as everyone said... I played to the end of the first chapter, then the game somehow mercifully destroyed itself.
