NMA Diablo 2 Bnet Team Thread

Made a new thread to keep the OT discussion off the Diablo 3 thread.

We have seven so far. I believe eight is the cap for a room on D2 Bnet, though it's been a while so I could be wrong. We should probably all decide on what characters we want. I'm good for a Lagromancer, but I'm also good with an Assassin if we have too much Necro-love going on (or a Lagromancer ends up, well, lagging up the game too much).

I think we should all also agree that we're going to be playing with the LoD expansion of course. You can get the expansion as a digital download (and the original game as well, if you're like me and can't find your original D2 discs anymore) for $20 off the Blizzard.com store.

This post will be used to keep track of players and meeting times.

My personal favorite to play would be Summonancer (Lagromancer), but I could go with a cold/fire Sorceress, a Bonemancer, a Holy Shock Paladin or a double swing sword Barbarian if the team needs it. I'm just not much of a melee player...
 
Yea, I was thinking we should probably have a thread like this. Kyuu, do you want to leave a space in your first post for info on like next game time and you can put our battle.net usernames next to each of our names?

As we go, you can update it with everyone's info so it's easier to keep track of everything.

But yea, I'd like to play a sorceress or a hammerdin depending on what we need. If we're gonna have some lagromancers, I'll do hammerdin, especially if Bofast would rather be a sorcie.

As everyone posts what they'd like to do for characters, we can tailor our team to best fit it.

Yea, I'd definitely prefer playing a sorceress build as I think it's more interesting. I'm just worried we won't have any players taking the punches when we get into battles. Though I guess the lagomancer/Paladin combo should offer some.
 
The Lagromancer's skeletons should, imo, be sufficient help for tanking. They are not optimal for mazes like the Maggot Lair, but up until Hell they should be just fine when given some space :)

@SimpleMinded: Do you prefer cold, fire and/or lightning for a sorceress? We could split the roles for max effectiveness.
 
Yea but hell's when we're going to need it most lol, and we always want to plan ahead :).

And Bofast, I don't mind which role I take as I enjoy the Sorcies using anything. I haven't played in a while so I'll probably use diabloii.net for a build recommendation. Whichever one you want to take, I'll take the other :).
 
Lol, that would be planning ahead, indeed :)

I'm thinking possibly going with a Blizzard sorceress, but I saw a Frozen Orb/Chain Lightning combo that might be fun to try (and more flexible when those Hell immunities start showing up). You can pretty much count on me using cold, in any case.

Sure, sounds like a plan. Although I was thinking we'd just stick with our NMA tags to keep things simple, but I suppose we could just note it here if someone's using a different Bnet tag.

My philosophy is play what you want to play and the team mechanics will work themselves out. That's just me though.

Okay, so I've got:

Bofast - Lagromancer/Bonemancer/Sorceress
BloodyPuppy - Avenger Paladin
SimpleMinded - Sorceress
Sicblades - Barbarian? (didn't sound like you were too enthusiastic but you didn't suggest anything else)
Kyuu (me) - still either Lagromancer or Assassin, depending on how things sort themselves out

I think if both Bofast and I do Lagromancer, perhaps we could each secondary specialize. Like, I could get into curses a bit and Bofast could get into the Bone or Poison skills a bit. Or perhaps I'm not up to date on the most effective builds (never was the sort to research into what everyone says I should do with my character).

Don't get me wrong though. I'd love to play an Assassin just as much. I love getting +run speed gear and stacking that with the Assassin's +run/attack speed skill, zooming around the map slicing things. That's actually sounding really good now... damn indecisiveness.

Lastly, I'm all by myself out here in the Pacific Time Zone. As long as we're in the evenings I should be fine for whenever though. Only problem is that with my job I don't necessarily get off at 4pm just because I'm scheduled to.
 
Hmm, I didn't really consider the time differences.
I think I'll have to quit for now, might join up later if my schedule changes. As it is right now I have to get up around this time (7:00 GMT+1) to get to school, so it'd be tough to play with you americans.
Too bad, I really wanted to try a Druid, never played one.
 
Wish I could join you guys, but the shitty FOB I'm at doesnt have interwebs for personal computards. Once i get back to the states...if D3 isn't out and your guys are still playing I may join you.
 
Well, I wanted to make a Corpse Explosion necro, but a great axe(which is what GA stans for) barbarian should help to tank and stuffs.

I don't mind, as long as we're having fun :)
 
Aight so when would you guys want to get started then? It sounds like we'd have to do 9pm or later on weekdays EST for Kyuu to get in.

Do you guys want to try having our first run tonight or tomorrow night at that time?

Unfortunately, I'll be heading up to school Thursday so Thursday night is out of the question, but either night before then is okay.
