NMA Podcast Round 6 - Nuka World

RangerBoo

Resident Schizo Poster
Well its finally here! The DLC that is going to fix everything and make Fallout great again! /sarc/
Anyway I thought it would be a good idea to get a thread for this started. Once everyone has played or watched a walkthrough of this DLC we will set a date for the next podcast. We will most likely be using Team Speak again so if anybody wishes to join may want to get themselves familiar with the program before the next podcast.

Edit: So it looks like the podcast is set for the 24th of September with the time pending. The list of topics are going to include:
Review of Nuka World
List of oversights, lore fuck ups and outright terrible ideas that were implemented into Nuka World
Our overall option of Fallout 4 now that all DLC for it are released.
No mods for PS4 fiasco

If anybody else has a topic they want to add to the podcast feel free to post your idea and I will add it to our list of topics.

Update: The Podcast will be this Saturday at 1 PM CST.

Well I have to hear from @AgentBJ09 but we are aiming for sometime in September.

Yeah, that'll give everyone interested the time to research this; I'm currently checking playthroughs when I'm not moving stuff back to my old house, or cleaning up my current one for market leasing.

Opinion so far: It feels like a half-assed attempt to restore an option that Fallout has almost always had, and it being behind a paywall? I'm not paying for that. No one should be paying for that.

I'll be up for the podcast.
However, I might not get enough time to really play through the DLC, currently I'm doing another playthrough of F4, plus I'll be moving in a couple of weeks

I am taking notes for this Podcast of things that are cringe inducing, insulting, idiotic and a blatant "fuck you". There is a lot of crap in this DLC that bears discussion. There is going to be a lot of salt mining to be done boys and girls.

Please for the love of God talk about how you're the leader of not one, but 3 FACTIONS IMMEDIATELY in this DLC.

And ghoulrillas.
And the squirt gun.
And the arcade shoot em' ups in a shoot em' up.
And the fact that the entire park story is told through notes/terminals/holotapes; it's like some shitty mod.
And how 11 slaves with bomb collars can revolt against 3 raider factions.

Thank you! I am adding those to my list right now.

I'm just watching AlChestBreach's playthrough, so i might join the chat :D
I love how fed up he is and how he doesn't bother to hide it
We well be happy to have you! Everyone is welcomed to join the chat and voice their opinion about this DLC. From all that I am gathering this looks like its going to another long one.

Also it doesn't surprise me that Al is fed up with Fallout 4. He didn't seem to enjoy it much judging from his playthrough.

Thanks! And yeah, the "-sigh- jesus christ..." moments are there a-plenty. No wonder he is mixing the upload schedule with New Vegas mods.

I have to check that out.

Good luck to everyone doing the podcast. I assume you'll need to have played Nuka World to talk about it.

I imagine he is saying that every 5 minutes.

Some of us will and some of us won't. I am watching multiple walkthroughs and videos of it. Not spending my money on a DLC that has a 54% on Steam. Fuck that shit.

More suggestions (really hate this DLC in case you couldn't already tell):

Awfully convenient that the Nuka scientists not only named 'Gatorclaws' something similar to Deathclaws, but also made them the exact same shape and size. You lazy fucks Bethesda, the least you could've is use setscale on them or something.

Hello I am "NPC trapped in a room and about to die #34" better write an expository note so that if anyone finds my body they'll know what happened here and how to advance in the level.

Paddle ball.

In the robot DLC you can attach a head to a robot to give it a body. Bethesda seemed to have forgotten this when you find Joshua Graham's (or whatever the hell Nuka guy is called) head in a vault.

"Weaponized Nuka Cola" oh fuck me.

"Quantum was never released to the public" - loading screen.
"Head on down to the Cappy Cafe to try Nuka Cola Quantum" - park announcer

Bottle and Cappy. I suppose the average Bethesda fan won't release they're a bottle and a bottle cap if Bethesda doesn't tell them.

An unarmed Sierra can make it all the way from the Capital Wasteland to Nuka World, unarmed.

That the only good part is that thanks to my beta code I didn't have to buy this.

Now that's a topic to talk about. What time and day to expect?

Thanks for this. I am already have two pages worth of shit and I haven't even scratched the surface. However, I think the Nuka Cola Quantum can be explained as the announcer advertising it on the day it was released which was hours before the Great War.

Oh shit! Forgot about that one, silly me. :-)

But you know what can't be explained, Quantum X-01 power armor.

This is unrelated but holy shit RangerBoo, just saw your feed, went to Game Revolution and nearly hurled.

"Nuka-Musement" please for the love of God euthanize me.
"Refreshingly swill" worse than ghoulrillas.
"the trials seem built by a devilish modder" well there you go it's mod quality. And it's not devilish because you can skip 90% of it with lockpick rank 2.
"one of the most important features of Fallout's lore" they're talking about the Cappy quest, you know, the one with weaponized Nuka Cola.
"riffs up classic pop culture" the Galactic Zone maybe. I'd hardly call Westerns 'pop culture', or fairy-tale castles, but I guess it's subjective.
"humorous excursion" name one time you were laughing due to something other than the shittiness of the DLC.
"Has a rollercoaster!+" fuck off.
"Finding collectibles is fun+" you're the reason why developers are allowed to release shit shoot and loots, at least Borderlands had some level of depth and self awareness to make it fun.
