NMA's Fallout 3 Mod Showcase

Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle Mod

Yes, you read that right! A modder by the name of joefoxx has modeled, textured and placed the laser rifle every Fallout fan is familiar with in Fallout 3!

Come grab it off the Fallout 3 Nexus !

Tribal T-51b Power Helmet

Fallout 2 players remember the loading slide with a tribal wearing the destroyed T-51b power helmet. Now, thanks to the work of SpeedyB and SplitSoul, it is a wearable item in Fallout 3!

Grab it off the Fallout 3 Nexus!

Sorry for the subjectivity, but the Awesome quotient of these two mods is... amazing.

Recommendations for the showcase?

I thought I'd take a look at the items list from Fallout 2 on NMA to see how accurate the laser rifle is. It's actually the extended capacity (upgraded) version of the laser rifle. The original has fewer tubes and doesn't have the... raised... thingy, at the back of the umm.. barrel.

Looks cool though. I always imagined it to be a bit bigger, but I guess that's because of the limited sprites in the original Fallout games, where all the weapons mostly looked the same on the "4 pixel high" characters. :P

The first Fallout 3 mods that I want to install right now.

Also I want more old school weapons and other old school stuff. :o

/Edit: I don't like, that the laser rifle is named "prototype laser", but ok.. you can't have everything.

I like the idea of the laser rifle, but every rifle Ive seen on nexus has that bulky guard around the barrel. I really wish they would trim the rifle model down.

All right, those mods are surely great, but came a bit too late and change only one thousandth of POS game play. And, with all respect to their creators (bows his head), they still bring very little, apart of visuals, to Fallout universe which is spoiled beyond limits by Bethesda, ZeniMax Incorporated.
I have already sold FO3 collectors edition to my friend so I even won't be able to test those mods. Nevertheless I encourage all POS3 modders to do their best to save the Fallout universe from its demise. You rule men! Respect.

Just go into the GECK and rename it the Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle.

Maybe the original Laser Rifle could be added as well, with a workbench recipe to upgrade it into this version? I know, compatibility issues.. :P

I'm thinking the code for the workbench could be copied and used with a new workbench. I don't really know though. Maybe someone will figure out a way of combining workbench mods like some programs do with various mods for Oblivion.

The only problem I see with the tribal helmet is that it shows how bulky and chunky the Beth modeller has made it compared to the Fallout render which is pretty sleek in comparison.
Other than that I likes.

Downloaded the Wattz laser rifle as soon as it turned up on the Nexus. Now actually using laser weapons as I found the rectangle ones a bit boring.

That's one of my main complaints with the power armor in F3. The BOS armor isn't too awful, but my god the Enclave armor is hideously bulky. I hope we see some slimmed down armor modded sometime in the future.

The BOS armour's helmet and feet are badly scaled and the shoulder pads just look weird but other than that I quite like it.

The Enclave armour however looks really bad. I don't mind bulky but it is so imbalanced. The legs and torso are quite boxy and large but they make the arms and hands look so small and thin by comparison. The concept art shows how good it could look but it seems the modeller was better at modelling platemail rather than power armour.

the enclave power armor in Bethesdas Fallout 3 is anyway just a rip off from Tactics. One has to be blind to not see the similarities.

It's actually more like a combination of tactics and the armour from FO2. I guess they tried to be creative by copying someone else's creativity.

Well Public, to me that is how the entire Fallout 3 felt, Bethesda being creative by copying/stealing someone else's creativity, including plot.

That's right, but...why did you Bold my nickname? I don't get it, it happened to me few times when people where doing this. Is this a some kind of an inside joke?

sorry for the offtopic.

BTW, the images are gone, and I really like the remake of the laser rifle. Much better than this Beth's sci-fi-modern-type.
And I have a quastion, does it have the same sound like in the previous Fallouts when it shoots?
