What films have you seen that involve a nuclear war? I know of a few, such as Grave of the Fireflies but I haven't seen that yet (though I've heard it's definitely worth watching).

One I have seen is When the Wind Blows, directed by the same man who directed The Snowman. It's funny, dark and sad as it shows an elderly couple's naivety towards the danger of radiation and how their memories of WW2 cloud their judgement.
 
Black rain; Japan 1989. Very good movie depicting attack on Hiroshima.
 
Do you mean only movies involving active nuclear wars or also post-nuclear titles such as A Boy and His Dog?
 
Threads, 1984 by the Limeys. A hard hitting film, but since it focuses on a few characters it does gloss over the remnant of the British government which is still around, the mix of now medieval or late renaissance technology with more advanced, but more hard to upkeep and use technology, and so on.
 
Seriously, just watch Threads if you haven't done it already. Beware, it's not a pretty movie. The low for-TV-budget actually kinda adds to the horror.
