Hoover Dam has a big gun or doesn it just looks like one?

Neato, concept art of Hoover Dam.

Does anyone recognize what flag is hanging from that big gun?

Seems you are right again BN, this article already mentions how the non action RPG elements have improved over Fallout 3.

I hate to see you ever make a prediction about the end of the world, most likely that will be the scenario that will kill us all.

So...who's in control of Hoover Dam when the game begins?

I have no idea if that's a NCR flag or what.

Looks like a NCR flag to me, but why should they own the Hoover Dam?

If the Van Buren story stays valid, the NCR was first at Hoover Dam and rebuild it as a new NCR city.

But the Dam now looks pretty much rundown. So... who knows what they changed... but I hope the background we know already stays. :/

Clip, clip, clip.

Yes, extended clip.

Everyone loves clips.

*sigh*

I wonder what the modified bolt is? A fluted bolt, it looks like... Wonder what stat gains they're going to put on that?

Doesn't really look like normal artillery. My best guess would be Anti-Air artillery, but who knows?

Man, I hate to admit it but I am really damn curious about Fallout New Vegas.

Setting wise it is miles better than Fallout 3, but sadly it will never replace the void that Van Buren left when it was canceled.

I was under the impression the NCR and CL only arrived recently, and Hoover Dam must have been in operation before then.

Maybe it's owned by some sort of gang that charges the locals for power? In that case there would have be some sort of reason why they haven't been taken out yet.

Or maybe it's overrun by Death Claws or something, but that wouldn't explain why Vegas has power, unless there's something maintaining the power (possibly an AI?)

We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

My guess is this: Hoover Dam is under NCR control, the BoS versus NCR war hits in, the war ended, both BoS and NCR are now okay with each other (like that one Hoover Dam ending), then it runs for a while and Caesars Legion hits in again (but this would be strange too, as we know that they attacked Hoover Dam already much earlier).

Anyway, now comes a small story hole....

...And we continue. Hoover Dam is very rundown now, the citie is nearly dead (or not?), but the Dam itself is still functional. The NCR moved to the Vegas Airport or has been pushed back by whatever reason.

Yeh, so that's what I have in mind now.

Maybe there is really a big vault in Vegas that was just closed until some time later and nobody managed it to get in, until it opened and the new vegas folks vent out of it... who knows.

Nothing says 'douche' louder than a reinforced sweater.
I like the leather jack, tho. Looks Mad Max-ish.

I have the mag and can confirm that the flag on hoover dam has a big red letter N on it and looks like it would fit about three letters. I'm sure you can connect the dots yourself:)

Hmm...Does that mean only the NCR areas will have power when the game begins?

I'm still unsure about this. We'll have to wait and see.

...NVS? Like in New Vegas?

I'm trying to imagine how they'll make Caesar's legion an appealing faction to side with - whether they'll just be cardboard cutouts of badasses, or something with a little more depth.

I'm also curious about what the flaws of the NCR will be, besides their aggressive expansionism.

Wasn't this already known from a early podcast?
What, the level 30 cap?

I really hope that they at least put more thought into balancing this game. Maybe we should go do a fan interview with Obsidian on the BethSoft boards. They had one for Fallout 3, so why should this one be any different.
