Pip-Boy 3000 Removal

Grim-Ascension

First time out of the vault
This has been a bit annoying to me ever since I started playing Fallout 3 with the bulkier armors. The Pip-Boy 3000 looks stupid when you're wearing 3 inches of steel in the form of Brotherhood of Steel power armor. =/ So, I was wondering, could a mod be made that removes the Pip-Boy (Like one of the Wastelanders, they're pip-boy free!) and makes an alternate inventory/stat screen?

Thanks, Grim Ascension

The previous Pip Boy was much better. It had less clicking and opening windows than this one (less annoying), and the inventory was in a seperated window (pressing "I" key and that's it!).

I hate the new one because of "clicking" stuff.

Since I'm basically a tinkerer in the game the first thought I had was.. hrmm I want to paint my Pipboy red! I have all the basic components. Solvent, Paint and sealing fluid. All fairly easy to find. Although I suppose if they were to expand on the game they could add a ton of new tech items. Mostly stuff they took out from F2.

Speaking of tinkering, with all the parts of scrap they could practically make this game a crafters heaven! Swords, armours, clothes and tools! I mean come on, it doesn't take much imagination to make a sword. Just a grinder and metal. Maybe some leather... Oh man I want to see this game grow!

Begs the question if there working on Fallout 4 if they plan F3 to be a introduction to give them time to program a new engine or if f3 is going to be a platform they spend time on.

Am I the ONLY person who wants to see QUICKSLOTS?
Like:
1 = Knife,stick,club whatever
2 = Small arms
3 = Main arm
4 = Bazooka
5 = Grenades/mines
(key 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 that is)

????

I just want to press "5" and get a mo'fokkin' grenade in my hand, dammit

You can. Just go into your inventory and hold down "1" or whatever button you want to map an item to and click on the item. Voila! Quickslot.

Yes. Id expect to see swords in a Post-Apoc world. With ammo being scarce and basic manufacturing still existing it would be a forgone conclusion that weapons such as spears and swords would reappear. Especially in the more tribal regions.

Mind you I'm not speaking of forged weapons persay. More along the lines of metal scrap being shaped. Very post-apoc and in most apoc settings such as mad-max and the new mmo fallen-earth.

Not to mention swords are in the fallout setting to inspire people to create there own such as the Chinese officer swords.

To make it clear though I dont want weapon imports from oblivion though!

Get a chinese officer sword problem solved...

Anyway removing the pipboy can be done with a console command, since it's an actual item, we just need to make the model for it invisible or something because it completely removes the interface if you use the console to unequip it

Not really enough for me ! I want more weapons in general though so swords can wait lol. Id much rather have my old F2 weapons hehe. :clap:

I think most of you are missing the point of my inquiry. I was simply wondering if the Pip-Boy could be removed completely, and if pressing tab simply brought up a menu, instead of the Pip-Boy. I love symmetry, and having a Pip-Boy on one forearm and bulky armor on the other annoys me a bit. This would be a mod I would love to see. It could also be used for role-play purposes. If you wanted your character to be born outside the Vault, in the Wasteland. You wouldn't have a Pip-Boy, then.

This picture shows how ugly the Pip-Boy is while wearing Power Armor...

Wouldn't it be possible to simply make a code of some sort that tells the game to place the glove model over the pipboy, since the pipboy is just a menu really

I could be completely wrong thou since i am not brilliant with mod creation
