Planescape Torment: Framerate issues

Hey, I've been having some issue trying to get my copy of Planescape Torment working properly on my laptop.
It runs, except the framerate is just really bad.

My specs are

Video Card: AMD Radeon(TM) R5 Graphics
CPU: AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5
RAM: 8GB
Processor: AMD A8-7410

So yeah, could anyone help?

If all else fails, try to run it on linux (via wine if it's windows only executable), old games like that usually work like butter on it.

I'm gonna need to use Linux anyway, may as well get started with something I do want to play.

Seeing as you have an amd carrizo based apu (the igpu is GCN 2, same as my r7 360 gpu), ubuntu should probably work out of the box, meaning it comes with open source amd gpu drivers. There is a possible hurdle with wirless drivers (some wifi companies are terrible about linux support), but you can see if everything works by just booting a live usb of ubuntu (you don't even need to install it to check if it works).
