Planetside 2

The Vault Dweller

always looking for water.
I've been playing it a few days. It's great in-spite of pretty bad lag due to performance issues. I have it set to the lowest performance requirements, but the size of the areas and the huge number of players are just too taxing.

I will admit regardless of your want for FPS or MMO's the scale of this game is groundbreaking. Multiple planets, each with multiple continents, each with numerous territories, each with a few installations to be fought over by anything from a few to a few hundred players at once.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I participated in the semi open Beta, and I loved the game. I am actually downloading it right now.

I'm playing it too, and it's pretty amazing. The F2P model is relatively generous, albeit not having a rocket launcher with so much as a basic lock-on unless you fork over or spand lots of in-gme currency is a low blow. Still, you get a functional arsenal right off the bat, which is better than in other games I guess. And when you unlock something, its yours, no silly rental period, looking at you Blacklight.

Taking part in large battles makes for a unique experience; my favourite was when we got trapped in an uphill territory (The Crown on Indar) and surrounded on all sides by both enemy factions. Our faction was pushed back almost to its warp gate, then took back all the land. Meanwhile, we successfully defended the territory from an endless assault, I had something like a 4 : 1 KD ration and about 10 tank kills. It's these moments of mind-blowing heroism and awesomeness that make this game.

I didn't have you pegged for someone that would enjoy FPS's TVD.

I'm an occasional fan. I have a big preference for RPG and Strategy games, but I'll play any genre if it's a great example of it's game (except sports).

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller
