During my countless scavenge raids for precious 50's themed material, I stumbled upon this little beauty.

It's stuffed with three pages of sci-fi and horror posters from the fifties and sixties, some of them in pretty high resolutions.

Enjoy.
 
Perhaps you should merge this with the Atomic Comics sticky. Then you could rename the thread, and make it a general fifties material thread.

Clean up some of the clutter, 'eh?

Not only are they high resolution and actual posters, but so many! This is a rare find.

Wow a disproportionally high amount of those have scantily clad women screaming in terror in the arms of some monster. I mean I can imagine the terror, but why only women and only the pretty ones?

Why is it called "Screaming Skull" when the poster shows a woman screaming at a skull?

I sent out an email to the guy that runs the civil defense museum, he should respond soon....I do have a ton of Civil Defense images though, with better resolution than the first set, I will post them soon...

Here are a few pics from my own collection, most are in storage, awaiting placement in our next domicile, but I have a few on hand. Please excuse the rough nature of the photos, the storage method I have for these posters does not lend well to picture taking....enjoy!

Too bad those types of posters are quite hard to obtain here. Sure, I could always buy theme somewhere over the Net, if I had a decent credit card OR MONEY... :roll:

Heh, thanks Angrim, I apreciate the sentiment, as I rarely have anyone react to them in a positive manor...we have people over and they never know what to make of them, I guess they see them as quite grim, but you and I both know that is half the attraction!
I get most of my stuff off of ebay, they are expensive though, when you are competing with a handful of other collectors, who are usually the same 5 or 6 people...but I purchase them with funds that I acquire from selling old crap of mine...I let the money sit in paypal; I view it as play money, the only way I could afford to collect....

Goddamn neat, I must say.

Yesterday I put some of my own live-model drawings on our living room wall because my girlfriend insisted... And now I see these cool posters that I would rather put on display...

It makes me feel kinda dumb.
 
This is so great. Its not often these stuff is posted and when it is we dont get that many pictures, but I must say that of all the ones Diarmada has posted are new that I've never seen before. I'm really surprised someone can have such a large collection and all of them are ones totally different from all the others I've seen to date!

DDD is right...the last one is the best. It also relates to my signature totally coincidentally...

Hey Diarmada mind if I make a link in my signature to it with my often-used phrase?

Those poster are so sweet!

One time in my Russian class we where looking at some photographs of cold war Russia and one of the pictures had large red graffiti on a broken down building in Stalingrad that said (in Russian):

"We wont forget. We wont forgive."

I thought that was badass.
