Kotaku posted the latest Rage trailer "that some fans of Fallout 3 might find surprisingly familiar" and which is here embedded for your viewing convenience.

Things that flash by may include a reference to underground vaults, a raspy narrator going on about doomsday, broken overpasses, a town greeter, a shady bar, killer klowns, a sheriff with a hat, running ghouls approaching en masse, buggy chases, sentry guns, and a mutant behemoth. You can see a bigger version at the official site.

The new expansion for Fallout 3 looks amazing!

You know, i will laugh to death if this game actually turns out to be a real RPG. :D

a shooter with with racing elements that doesnt claim to be a RPG, pretty honest. It is a shame about the T rating which could mean killed mutants bust into sparcles just like in quake live :(.

Yeah just seems like someone else is trying to cash in on Fallout 3s success with a differen't engine (not that i don't mind)

looks fun, but i really want a good RPG to play now :(
can only replay fallout 1 and 2 soo many times....

has nothing to do with Fallout, except for the fact that it takes place in an post apocalyptic setting. its a shooter with stunning visuals.
I rather play this than F3.

It's been in development since long before the release of Fallout 3. The surface similarities are pretty funny though.

Well, it's ID Software, and they know first person shooters. Hell, they invented the freaking genre, and this looks N-times better than Fallout 3.

I don't think they'll dissapoint, but I don't think it'll be an RPG either..

It'll be something inbetween. Think of the old DOS games, like.. Strife, Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem. Something like that. Plotline, but no quests or anything. Just dialogue sometimes. (Mostly Strife).

I saw this the other day and in spots it's a dead ringer for Fallout 3, in others (such as the fun house), not so much. The stuff in Fallout 3 that isn't retro 50s looks like the stuff I see in this (or vice versa) except that the animations please me greatly. I haven't played a game that's less than 4 years old in quite awhile and after watching so much Fallout 3 footage you almost get used to how horrid their animation is... almost.

Huge fan of id Software. Quality single-player FPS shooters. I'm think it'll be a great game.

Looks like it will be kind of like Thief, except you get to choose whether or not you want to take on a mission. Mostly FPS. The only rpg element being quests.

The post-apocalyptic setting is approaching the point of oversaturation, thanks both to games and films.

Compared to what? Zombies and vampires? :P

Despite the fact that it seems like the whole world is trying to cash in on the Post Apocalyptic genre nowadays, I still love Id, and I have a somewhat good feeling about this game, as long as it doesn't try to be an RPG. Perhaps it will go more of a STALKER route, where its an fps with very small rpg elements.

Huh? Why would a shooter be a "real RPG"?! Or do you mean they are actually marketing it as an RPG?!

Well, it wouldn't be much weird, considering the actual state of the industry.

Looks much better than Fallout 3 and I also knew about this project before Faillout 3 was released.

Would like to give it a shot one day, mainly for being a straight up shooter.

How come this game looked so much better a couple of years ago, and now (compared to the last time I saw it); crapula?

A: It's beeing dumbed down for the consoles. And a teen rating as well? Top it off with the EA logo and, oh lordy, this is just getting better and better. Perhaps Zenimax is going to send over some talented writers to help with the script as well.

To top it off they should get Danny Elfman to score it.
