Receipt for cult classic that is F1-F2-FNV

Is, as well as other late 90s-early 00s RPGs, these three points executed well. Despite broken SPECIAL and really wooden main gameplay loop.

1.Non-linear quest solutions including non-trivial ones to the point of abusing fault game mechanics and finishing them in any desirable order which (the order) also can influence narration and endgame.
2.Subtle post-modernism responsible for humor in these games. Even Fallout 2 was only halfway retarded (quantity flew into quality) with it's humor.
3.Hilarious cynicism in everything from visual design to most important here - writing. We in Russia not sensing this but USs patriotic rednecks' butthurt could cause chain reaction because of Fallouts content.

It's all blends into the best case of rare intellectual breed of exploitation media with a healthy dose of mocking the united states, it's "values" and "culture". Like Postal but

to say short.

Everything of this is absent in Fallout 3 and 4 because Bethesda decided to be unironically patriotic and 'MURICA FUCK YEAH!, include soppy plotlines and no less soppy 'social commentaries'. 'The result are some really stale action games. Why? Why washing out things that made Fallout fun, why planning to miss the point? My money is on butthurt and rustled jimmies of some sensitive american patriots among bugthesda higher ups. Tim Cain truly is /ourguy/!

Because "America, Fuck Yeah" is one of the easiest things to write and Bethesda are a bunch of lazy assholes.

That's quite a surface analysis of the problem. Besides, if "America FUCK YEAH" is easy to write, why do they keep failing at that?

Never said they were writing it well, just saying they chose one of the easiest one to write.

Does receipt mean anything else that a paid bill in the english speaking world ?

The Bethesda Fallout games are amalgams of both ironic and unironic patriotic 'social commentaries' presented intentionally and unintentionally, and the games are experienced as shallow, loosely associated, fragmented composites as opposed to the cohesive presentation of lore and gameplay that we see in the originals.

But given the way Bethesda functions as a team, this is not surprising. For instance, this classic dismissal and portrayal of a stunning degree of arrogant ignorance from Emil Pagliarulo in discussing the design of the Dark Brotherhood questline in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, which contains such enlightening insights into the quality of research and effort put into the development of contributing writing to an established body of work as "I looked at the Dark Brotherhood fiction, and stuff, from Morrowind, and I'm just like 'that doesn't really fit what I wanna do, I wanna change the lore' so I'm like, I asked Todd, I'm like 'hey can I make changes to this?' and he's like 'Ah, go ahead, go nuts' so I'm like 'ok, great'.

There is also the profound revelation of the fact that he redesigned the Dark Brotherhood to be an 'inversion' of Christianity, truly a bold and risky direction no one has ever considered trying before.

This is the level of incompetence and irreverence we are dealing with in Fallout 3 and 4, and the travesty that 76 purports to be. Rather than a handful of people with a relatively unified vision, influenced by the same media, sharing a similar intellectual capacity and devotion to artistic integrity, there is a ton of people, of varying degrees of intellectual capacity, working in isolation and apparently only collaborating to determine how everybody can rework everything so that each writers tangentially related subplots can cohabit the same virtual sensorium without interfering with one another.

They did not achieve 'America, fuck yeah' if that's what they were even going for. Frankly I' be surprised if their concept was more than one word.

Social commentaries are different from anti-americanism, which sums your quite uncollected and confusing post.

Born and raised in Europe, and this stuff starts to become really really tiresome at this point.
