"Retro-Look" Mod?

CazadorVault RED Engineer

First time out of the vault
While Fallout Tactics looks like a fun game, one thing always bothered me-alot of the weapons, vehicles and buildings are too MODERN looking! I mean, I don't expect ppl to overhaul the cutscense, like the starting one w/ the Humvee, but it'd be nice to at least see gameplay that had a look that was consistent w/ the 50's sci-fi and military look that is a vital part of the fallout universe. As such, I was wondering, is there a mod out there that gives the buildings, weapons icons, vehicles, etc, a more 50'ish look to them? :(

One armour and weapons pack will be okay, the highwayman obviously hasn't been released yet. You'll have to rename the armour sprite to replace the default power armour, if you want to use both power armours then you'll either have to give up another armour or use Jarekfall's Improver to add another armour type to the game.

What would you suggest renaming it btw? T-51b? I alas forget the proper name for that body armor, it's Engima faction isn't it? I just want to make sure that whatever I rename it as at least semi-fits mainline fallout canon. X-/

Enigma faction, where on earth did you get that from? I'm talking about renaming the file, if you just want to use Darin's T51-B sprite you'll need to rename it from WBOS.spr to Power.spr and create a directory structure, core/sprites/characters. If you want to use both without using FOT improver then you'll have to sacrifice one of the other armours (like the Brahmin armour) and rename Enclave.spr to Brahmin.spr and then edit the brahmin entity to use one of the other brahmin sprites. Easiest way though is just to install FOT Improver, then in improverdata/armourtypes.txt add two lines
{Enclave;Pow;0;0;0}
{WBOS;Pow;0;0;0}
and in the improver.cfg change {patch.armourtypes} = {0} to
{patch.armourTypes} = {1} then run the improver click on more in the main menu then entity editor, open up the power armour and advanced power armour entities and change their sprites to point at the relevant inventory armour and change their armour types to WBOS and Enclave respectively.

Sorry, I meant Enclave. X( I was watching "Lost Tapes" recently, they have a company called Engima. I think it was Enclave who made the body armor, so I suppose I could just call it "Enclave Armor." Again, thank you for being patient w/ me and answering my questions. X-/

K, did some looking up stuff, what command strings would you suggest using if I wanted to replace the Advanced Power w/ the Enclave Advanced Power Armor Sprite and the Regular Power armor w/ the t-51b sprite? :?

First of there's no need to keep double posting, in fact it's against forum rules.
edityourpost:

What do you mean by command strings? If you download FT Improver then just follow the instructions to set it up and then edited the two files as I've posted above and put the sprites in core/sprites/characters. There should be no need for command line changes unless you've set up a mod path as detailed in the editor readme, in that case use add -path <modname> to the short cut.

to the short cut.

K, sorry about the double post, I am new here. :( TY for answering my questions though. At least my game will now look slightly more like main Fallout though. Plus, the "Brotherhood" Advanced Power Armor will at least make more sense now, since it's actually "scavenged" Enclave Armor. I won't ask how they got it, just as long as I can buy it. XP
