So if you leave the Brotherhood of Steel alone in the independent vegas ending what happens?

So if i choose to tell Yes Man to "Ignore the brotherhood of steel" what happens exactly? do they just continue on in isolation of their bunker aftermath of the battle of hoover dam or do they patrol the roads of i-15 and highway 95 sort of like in the NCR Ending if you ally them with the Brotherhood. Or do they just go to war against you and your securitron army (assuming you selected that at least instead of destroying the dam) once you win the battle of hoover dam?

This question always irked me as sometimes i spare them in the independent ending but only if i plan on destroying the Dam and not using the securitron army to maintain security as i believe this will trigger a BoS war between your vegas and them.

There's countless variables. I wonder about this too.

I actually think not using the Securitrons is a trigger for their hostility moreso because they're a worse deterrent inactive or unupgraded. Their only independent slides are when you don't do that and they're a millitant terror.

If you organize a truce between them and NCR I'd like to think it's a similar outcome - peace between the two and protection/leaving alone of NCR caravans in exchange for technology.

If you're on good terms with them and have an upgraded army I think they'll probably sit tight. Probably because they know they can't win. That's if they're under McNamara who plays on the side of caution versus danger and would recognize the threat in the same fashion he does NCR. Things might be tense but if it's a fellow Brother at the helm they might be more relaxed? Who's to say.

Independent is a big unknown gamble and the Brotherhood is one of the biggest IMO

I always help the Brotherhood and side with Yes Man. Depending on how I want to approach a playthrough, I sometimes leave McNamara in charge and sometimes I depose him in favor of Hardin. And I always upgrade the Securitron Army. With McNamara as Elder, I'd imagine the Brotherhood would keep to themselves for the most part.
