Stalker 2, announced

Ediros

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
So, they announced and gave us a trailer, which is 99% cutscenes. I want some real gameplay, not fake montage, but here you go:

Most of it looked like real gameplay to me, just no HUD

I would argue about that. HUD is one thing, but the swapping things on the fly without a menu, picking things up. It wasn't genuine. Granted, the game will look similar, but until I see proper gameplay, I will hold my horses.

The Metro trailers were stylistically pretty similar (in fact it was probably aping them since Metro has ended up being more popular than STALKER, ironically) and they were basically good representations of gameplay, just without HUD and a little streamlined

It's GSC Gameworld.
It will suck balls.
Also, the animations look straight out of Crysis. Hey, maybe they are using CryEngine this time and at least the technical aspects won't be garbage.

The game is delayed till 2023, so whatever.

The trailer looks okay, doesn't really tell us anything, but emissions will be beautiful it seems.

I hate to say this, but they are probably trying to stay alive as it is now. I am pretty sure you know what i mean.

The delay could extent to more than a year or two.

Yeah, I know, fuck Putler.

Nobody wanted a war, but him. So, I dont mind waiting, I have got other things to play.

STALKER games are great but definitely janky messes. There's a charm they have to them, well, maybe kick Clear Sky out of the family photo first (it had some good ideas but holy shit some stretches of the main story are god awful).

The original trilogy wasn't even planned to be the games they ended up as, which I think I learned due to Crni opening that door. There were also some nasty rumors of leadership at GSC during STALKER 2's (not this STALKER 2 lol) planning phases. What they have shown gives me mixed feelings about the game, not instilling doubt or confidence. I'm rooting for it because I enjoy the games but I am hesitant to get hopes up. I'm mostly worried about the AAA big budget tendencies the game might end up with.

Sad that there were cool concepts from the original sequel [trilogy] that probably won't see the light of day now. I'm sure none of it was set in stone but the new mutant concepts were ones I liked. The idea that STALKER 2 would be a second set of games that were a new generation entering the Zone was good as well, being able to have characters like Strelok become old veterans who are far less active in looking for treasures and glory and take more of a role in leadership or guidance.

Currently sitting at 80% positive reviews on Steam. Most common complaints are:

-Spawning System that is very artificial, compared to call of prypiat, as it spawns enemies on top of you.
-Terrible AI
-Horrible Stealth Mechanics. Metro series did it better.
-Very fast weapon and armor degradation. It makes Fallout new vegas and call of prypiat look incredibly generous by comparison.
-Bugs
-Performance issues

Basically, the game is unfinished. It needed at least another year of pure bug fixing and optimization. Oh well, I will wait a year for it to get better.
